Premier League say we are mathematically safe.

Anyway . . . .

Sayings that get mangled no 1: after the draw for the next round: "that game's a potential banana skin". Nooooo! It's "a banana skin". All the potential for a slip is already in the banana skin. Otherwise we'd be saying "this game has the potential for a potential slip".

Sayings that get mangled no 2: (and in the subset post-game interviews): "he got his just rewards". Aaaarrrgghh!! It should be "just deserts". Though even that is a modern bastardisation - as we know it has been "just desert" since the 1500s and "desert" since the 1200s.

I normally don't respond to your posts - but since you've chosen to attack me personally I'll make a few comments, only I won't be abusive, rude or downright nasty as you have chosen to be.

1. Re 20th century fans - I saw my first game in 1968 and have been going home and away ever since.
2. I have absolutely no idea what a "Cherries Elitist" is but the majority of those 56 years were obviously in the bottom two divisions.
3. Had you actually read my post carefully you would have noticed that I was weighing up the potential impact of European involvement on our squad depth next season and our capacity to sustain that.
4. I'm not sure you grasped the irony.
5. Of course I'd love us to progress and be in Europe, I simply question our readiness this time around.
6. I openly invited opinions - not vitriol and abuse.
7. I taught for 40 years on the back of four years in higher education and nobody called me supercillious or a cretin.

Please don't bother responding to my posts again, I have absolutely no interest in the opinions of someone so utterly disrespectful.
The forum has a very useful ignore feature

The Ignore feature is, I guess a useful feature as a last resort - but I dunno..I just think it's somewhat 'defeatist'. ..you can't go through life getting upset by everything said contrary to your beliefs and allowing the stuff to affect your mood and mental mechanisms.

Is it not dessert?

Just block him like I did ages ago, why put up with any grief

Sheffield United need to win at Anfield tonight to be part of the equation at the weekend and that's 33/1 at the bookies.

That's all nonsensical.....only Luton can catch us by winning all theirs and we lose all ours - therefore a point at Luton achieves the Math necessary !
