Really can't get my head around the Middle East conflict.

Can anyone decipher whats going on?

Hamas attacks Israel with a terrorist attack.

Israel responds in kind but leaves its own people starving and homeless.

Israel attacks Iranian Embassy (allegedly)

Iran launches drones that will take 5 hours to arrive at Israel.

US and Israel attack said drones, with aid from the RAF.

This looks like a black swan event.

If Iran was serious about attacking Israel, they wouldn't launch drones that took 5 hours to arrive.

Really not sure what to make of this.

Any ideas?

From where I'm standing, it looks like folks in the Middle East got sick of US-Israeli hegemony. Hard to say how far the US is going to take this, I honestly can't see the economy being able to handle an escalation.

It has to be a black swan event....Iran giving Israel 5 hours notice by launching drones.

Bringing the USA and the UK in to the conflict.

This is a precursor event.

Conflict will arrive just in time to instigate... I mean cover, economic meltdown.

Millions will suffer/die, for a bunch of w4nkers battling over power, wealth, religion, greed.

Time for some of that pedantry you so highly value.;)

GDP is a measure of economic activity per year rather than value of assets. More akin to a salary than your life savings.

Virtually everyone in the UK will know what it feels like to be in debt for multiple times your annual wage if they've got a mortgage.

Lighten up, it's not like it's the world

And even if it is you'll probably survive the nuclear winter for a few days longer than us in the UK

My two pennies worth.

Israel reasoning for basically assassinating some Iranian officers boils down to Hamas being allegedly funded and supplied in part by Iranian military. Escalation.

Iran is essentially a strongmen dictatorship so has to be seen to respond in force, to both internal and external audiences.

They probably have the capability to do Israel more damage in a real event, but it’s as much about posturing. And it probably didn’t hurt to gather intelligence on what the military and political response would be to a large drone attack. Something they may wish to try again in future considering they produce and sell a lot of the things. More escalation though.

It’s all concerning for sure.
