Big club bias

I've only just realised Mr Var was Jared Gillet, no shock or surprise our man-in- blue wasn't sent to the monitor but told what to do. They both fear the wrath of Ten Hag and don't want to miss out on ManU's next crucial big match ( whatever year that is) : )

What i don't understand with the christie non pen, is why the ref wasn't taken to the monitor to review it, effectively it was the var refs decision.
It clearly wasn't a clear and obvious error, but if the var ref disagreed then surely it was up to the on field ref to make the final decision.
The adam smith one was very harsh, but was never going to be overturned
On the commentary they said it was not referred because it was a “fact” decision. I guess like an offside.

I think theres some kind of mental weak spot. As in subconcious bias towards 'powerhouse' clubs in England. Not sure theres a 'cartel' as such.

more that, feel weight/stature, crowd of the big boys looming over them, which influeunces decisions made.

A finely balanced game.

If you don't annihilate the opposition, you leave it in the refs hands.

Hence Gary O'Nil is whinging every week.

We need to be more ruthless.

If Bill wants us top 9 he needs a new striker, better than Solanke.

We need to cash in on Dom unfortunately.

His stock will never be higher than at the end of this season.

We dont want to lose him, but financially it makes sense to sell.

They know they’re going to be put under the spotlight and microscope more.

It makes some referees try to avoid making any contentious decisions, some play to the gallery’s.

The two “big decisions” were playing to the gallery calls. A look at me I’ll give a penalty to both sides. He got both right by the letter of the law, even if the law is an ass.

What I don’t get is the interference from VAR over a decision that wasn’t clear and obvious. Did they draw lines like they would for offside to be certain it was outside the box? How did they determine the foul didn’t then continue into the box? Why was the referee not called over to be involved in this decision?

I still think the PL should bypass PGMOL and hire top European refs. Until they sort themselves out. The standard of officiating in CL games and top continental games is a country league apart.
I think this is the way forward. The European refs wouldn't be fazed by so called big club history and reputation and us supporters wouldn't have historic grievances with them.

Just heard some of the communication between Tony Harrington and Jared Gillet.
"Hey T-bone, 'fraid it's a clear and obvious error"
"How so? Jay dog"
"You've given a penno against Manchester United, you total tool"
"Oh yeah, dude. Any chance you can help me out Jay Dog"
"Sure can do buddy, we'll just say it starts outside the box"
"Thanks mate". : )

Would like to think it's not deliberate, but evidence shows it is sometimes deliberate. The decisions are just so bad.

PL needs to grow some and take on the so called big clubs…but no!…they selfishly plough on disregarding those who are the rest?
Why haven’t they just penalised Man City and Chelsea with points deductions?… they could appeal them like Everton and Forest are/have done?
Because there scared just like the Refs who officiate in their matches!

We aren't going to get a striker better than Solanke. Certainly not one who works so hard that he's popping up making vital tackles in our own box in the last few mins

I don't have any history in the game compared to you guys, but it's hard for me to imagine how this gets resolved equitably. I hate the term "fixed" when it comes to sports. I can acknowledge that the occasional ref in any sport can be poor. In any field, there will be the very good and the not so good. But the number of refs that we have seen that are good and consistently so .... it's got to be fewer than the fingers on one hand.
The refs have been worse since VAR in my opinion, as are the rules. I've no clue about the handball rules any more
