Aston Villa v AFC Bournemouth - Sunday 3 pm

Villa very impressive…. No disgrace that they’ve done it to better than us. Superbly organised with great movement.

Two pivotal moments cost us. Solanke should have squared to Dango at 1-0 for the tap in. Christie shouldn’t have needlessly wasted three opportunities to pass with everyone up the pitch. Little moments…. Strong first half

Second half… we we were poor! Zabarnyi was destroyed by Watkins. Dango is clueless as ever, our final ball was wasteful and Neto is more scared of crosses than Jesus. We looked like the tired side and only Semenyo added energy from the bench but looked rusty. Onto Wolves!

Christie so poor there. He completely lacks composure when it comes to final balls or finishing. Three opportunities to play a killer ball and didn’t take any of them. So frustrating. What happens when you play players based on work rate…..
I think he thought kluivert was offside so couldn’t play a pass. He may have been right. Although just attempting the pass would have meant villa don’t score. Frustrating. But we were second best thereafter.

I agree for the first pass but then he just kept going, didn’t get his head up and look for the other runners that had appeared. Poor play for me.

How did Villa sign Martinez?......kaminski....Kelleher....Collins would all be upgrades imo.
Hughes signed Neto, Radu (via his dad) and Randolph. Just stick a pin in the top left page of any Panini sticker book and you will do better mate…

Keeper recruitment has been shocking…

so last season neto was good for us and this season he has about 1 good match in 4 but were forgetting last season and just judging hughes on his this season form, and then using 2 back up keepers 1 of which was never signed to compete but more for experience he brings to slate hughes again is a bit wierd, do you expect us to have 3 top keepers in the squad?

To be fair, Zabs had to be careful as he was on a yellow, which took away his physical play.

Did I hear the announcer correctly that Cherries have dropped 27 points from leading positions? Jeez, just hang on to 1/3 of those and Europe is right there.

Klivert made a great run but was offside when Christie finally got his head up… there was then a central run he didn’t find and then a run out right before he was dispossessed. To be fair this is why he was so poor as a winger or as a ten and he isn’t often in these positions anymore but on the rare occasions he has to play a killer ball or have a shot he may as well stop and give it to someone else.

Learn how to put teams to bed when we're on top and we'll be absolutely flying. It's happened so many times this season. Should have been a couple to the good at half time but instead went in level. There was no way Villa were going to be that poor second half, but we totally lost the plot as they upped their game.

Was disappointed in quite a few players out there. Still, positives to take from the first half. Not quite sure how Villa have come away from this season with four points against us but that's the difference. Turn poor performances into draws and better performances into wins and we'll be some force, like they are proving to be this season.

No. One would be nice though.
so we came into the season with neto on who most would of thought would continue his form but he hadnt for personal reasons and we signed a decent back up keeper to allow Travers to leave on loan, not sure hughes was ment to see into the future or not but the form change in neto wasn't to be expected but at least it gives you more chance to repeat your agenda again and again and again and again ............

Neto being good last year not a universally accepted fact btw but you are obviously entitled to your opinion. He’s always punched when he should catch.

Interesting we had Morgan Roger’s in the building for a long look and still preferred to spend 45m on Traore and Dango rather than 8m on him. Thats recruitment at its most stupid. They could only dream about the intelligence and effectiveness he showed again today.

You slagged Rogers off non stop when he was here, are you now admitting you were wrong?

Guess who said these?

Morgan Rogers. If he can play for Man City then I am regretting not booking myself a trial.

Wing backs never work for us particularly when one is Morgan Rogers who I’ve yet to see do anything that suggests he would be worth keeping.

We’ve added numbers but not necessarily quality. Marcondes hardly plays, I would send Rogers back
