Non- Moving day

The day before we completed on our house we were contacted by the Mortgage Company asking for a surveyor to confirm that the overhead and underground electricity cables on the property would not affect its value.

Surveyor duly sent an email. He put "Either the overground or underground electricity cables will affect the value of the property".

He meant to put "Neither the overground Nor underground electricity cables will affect the value of the property"

Mortgage offer was suspended. Cost me a new moving van and 3 days of stress.
Two bloody "N"s.

I got away lightly in comparison, only three moves growing up.

I had one near miss of note. We were in Germany, my dad had done his 22 was looking to stay on so took a posting in Pompey. MFO boxes packed (remember them - rope for handles), said our goodbyes to everyone, my school, mates, teachers, neighbours the whole lot- never to be seen again as it was back then. Got a call from my dad the day before the move, he'd seen the married quarters and pompey :ROFLMAO: and pulled out. Unpacked the lot and back to my old life in Germany until he left a couple of years later- then civvy street and Dorset.

I remember those boxes! I think my Dad still has a couple in the loft.

Haha I imagine that was strange- walking back into school after having dropped the mic. We were in Germany a couple of times. Had a few friends who I thought I'd never see again, until their Dads got posted to the same place a few months later.

Dad's last posting before civvy street was Blandford, after that we moved to Poole for my secondary education and that's when we started going to Cherries games. The rest as they say is history.

Royal Signals ? If so we might have crossed paths, that said I'm knocking on a bit now (well not compared to some on here ;))

IIvIvIvI've been fortunate with my moves.

Although current place, suspected seller lied about having found a place as their previous buyer pulled out far down line, so wanted to avoid being messed about again. So took few months longer to complete.

One mate was losing will to live though as he had loads of deals pulled down the line. Went on fir years.wasreally starting to effect him.

When my family was moved from Cranleigh Road to Moorside road, my Nana was looking forward to seeing the new kitchen, she was amazed to find a Shepherds Pie and rice pudding kept hot, with a note wishing us all the best, ‘ what nice people they must be’ she said, ‘must be a bunch of weirdo’s’ shouted my Dad. ‘There’s a dead bloody Labrador in the loo’.
