Player of the season vote

You voted for Christie? I wouldn’t have called that ;)

Apparently we just need to vote for who we want to stay and not the best player, like last year.

Did you even vote for him? Phil Bill would have 'romped it' if Lerma's contract wasn't running out.

Can’t objectively prove it either way realistically, but Lerma was 1000% an en masse pity vote last season lol. Billing was robbed, and Lerma wasn’t even in the Top 6-7 players of last season for me. If 50% of the fanbase didn’t hate Kelly for no discernible reason, we might’ve seen it happen again.

This year I voted Solanke for obvious reasons, I imagine it’ll be a toss up between him and Christie.

To be 100% honest (and I know most lies start with those four words) I can’t remember. Reading this thread back it looks like I would have gone for Billing. I often have a few in my head come the button push. Same this year, really torn between Solanke, Christie and Cook but went for Dom because I think he is the one player we wouldn’t be in this position without had he broke a leg pre season for eg.

Too difficult to call. Solanke, Christie, Cook, Smith, Senesi and Zabarnyi have done us really proud. The rest have done us proud.

Splitting hairs isn't my game. Genuinely, can't call it this season.

So I am thinking initially in no order, the following should be in contention:

Zabs
Cook
Christie
Semenyo
Solanke

Honourable Mentions
Kleuivert
Senesi
...and Smith, bearing in mind I have never been a huge fan thats some acknowledgement for me

Love Kerkez, probs not played quite enough

I think it's

1. Solanke
2. Semenyo
3. Cook
4. Zabs
5. Christie

I think the difference between last season and this season is that nobody really jumped out as POTS last year whereas this season all of the people you mention plus a couple of others have really had great seasons. I've gone for Cook but you couldn't argue with Christie, Dom, Zabarnyi and perhaps Semenyo and Smith.

No stand outs last season, I thought Billing or Neto probably deserved it but voted for Jeff because he had his standard 7.5/10 all-action season and I thought he deserved to feel the appreciation of supporters when he's deciding what to do.

So from that picture Ryan Christie isn’t in contention then? Looks like I’ve wasted my vote.
Didn’t notice the picture at first and thought exactly about the same players on it plus Christie.

Ended up giving my vote to Semenyo, but it could’ve been Zabarnyi, Cook or Solanke.

All four of them have been excellent all season.

Kluivert didn’t start too well and I feel like Christie’s performances have declined in the final third of the season, although he has had a couple of good games lately.

It's the kind of season, and particularly our style of play, where players player will be interesting. Work/effort not obvious to supporters, but critical in making IAs philosophy work

Invert the season and Ryan Christie would walk it… mind you, Iraola would probably get sacked as well…

It's got to be the legend that is Phil Bill surely?
:grinning:
You could make a claim that if he hadn't have scored his goal against Burnley everything could have turned out so differently.

It's our Mark Robins / Alex Ferguson moment.

Before that point, friends in Sheffield believed the Blades would finish above us.
