Pre Match trial of outside area - observations

The problem with the East Stand is that there are only 3 turnstiles for over half the stand which compared to the other stands is way less per supporter hence the longer queues

AFC Bournemouth v Manchester United - Saturday 5.30 pm

Just seen Ashley Young handball in the area, continuing ref inconsistency with the PGMOL justification adjusted to fit the refs decision

    Credit to the ref

Perhaps he watched the Arsenal game the previous evening. The ref let a lot go and the players responded when they realised it was a proper match and were given the don't mess with me stare when they tried to argue

    AFC Bournemouth v Sheffield United

Interesting to see that both Man U penalty takers standing foot was flat on the ground beside the ball. Only the outside of Dom’s standing foot was in contact with the ground increasing the chance of not having a secure base to hit the ball from.

    Harewood School car park

Not going to get to the area until 2.30 on Saturday. Does the school car park get filled up before then? If it does, anybody know if there somewhere fairly near to park at that sort of time. I usually park near Queens Park earlier but it gets rammed soon after 2pm. Thanks

    Our away support

Whilst I can’t match some of the low away support numbers already talked about, I do remember going to Wigan with 173 others and having the whole of one side of the ground which was great as we just moved along nearer their goal at half time.

    Safe standing

Two thoughts. Firstly, if a person who buys tickets with points wants/needs to sit, then the availability of sitting seats will reduce with people who have moved from the upper North Stand to sit. Secondly, will the club be very active in ensuring that people do not stand at the back of the...

    Manchester United v AFC Bournemouth

It’s also noticeable that they quite often drop off the defender when he has committed to heading the welly out and look for the 2nd ball rather than a challenge that they don’t think they can win

Thought the ref had a good game, understated but kept control well

AFC Bournemouth v Newcastle United - Live On Sky 5.30 pm

I didn’t miss Phil Bill, so much so it took me until after half half time to realise he wasn’t even in the squad

Please note, supporters are not permitted to bring umbrellas into the stadium.

Now I’m not allowed to bring in my hot drink flask I have had two thoughts. Firstly am I going to throw my expensive flask at somebody and secondly and will the club start offering coffee with oat and soya milk. Somehow I think not. I would assume that the club has done a risk assessment which...

New Member of the 92 Club

I thought I had done well with 40 away AFCB games plus Rochdale vs Northampton and Bolton vs West Ham. It’s a pure coincidence how often I had a sales appointment near a midweek away game!

    Post-match thoughts v Chelsea

Stirling very soon gave up trying to run at Aarons when he switched sides in the 2nd half.

    Post-match thoughts v Brentford

Using all 3 sub windows for single substitutions is poor thinking. The result was that Kirkez couldn’t be subbed. Tavs should have been swapped into the left back role as a plan B. Poor match management by Areola.
