    Premier League 23/24

Well, if we win by 25 goals and are awarded 5 points as a result.

Don’t think we can do 7th, but maybe 8th on GD. Need to win by a couple though.

Wolves v AFC Bournemouth - Wednesday 7.45 pm

Travers had a very impressive diving save in the first half. After that, not much to do really. When I first turned the game on, a cross came in and I yelled "Grab it Neto!!" and then was pleasantly surprised when he did. Later, I realized it was Travers. We probably deserved to win, but the...

AFC Bournemouth v Manchester United - Saturday 5.30 pm

At first (watching on TV) I couldn't even see the handball. Watching the replay from one of the cameras on the side, though, he does have his arm out and almost even leans into it to prevent Rashford from getting it. Looked like it hit closer to his elbow than shoulder. If that had been the...

    Non - Video Games

Wow, how far can we go back? From the Arcade era: Street Fighter II (blew way too many quarters on that one) Double Dragon (fun to play with a friend) NES Super Mario Bros - what a soundtrack (Super) Mario Kart PC Wolfenstein 3D (first-ever scrolling 3D FPS) ("Achtung! ... Mein Leben!") Duke...

    Non - Total Solar Eclipse

It was really, unreal. Saw the totality for a few minutes. First thing you notice, probably 15 minutes before, is it gets very cold. It was 18C and dropped probably 10 degrees. When the light really goes out it happens in a few seconds and it's really dark. Frogs started croaking. Pic is...

    Record since Week 10

After the recent results I thought why not update the 'what if we could erase the first 9 games' table. There were a lot of draws, while we won and therefore moved up relative to most teams in the league: 1. Arsenal 47 2. Liverpool 47 3. Man City 46 4. Villa 40 5. AFCB 38 6. Spurs 34 7. Man...

    Fixed that for you.

Is this as good as it gets?

What's interesting is that at the end of that season (46 points), there was a huge clump of teams between 8th (also on 46 pts) and 17th (40 pts). Then the 7th place team was on 61 pts! So while 9th is technically "top-half", the reality is that there were 7 teams who were wildly ahead of...

AFC Bournemouth v Crystal Palace - Tuesday 7.45 pm

Please can Semenyo come on at the half? We need someone who can be dangerously direct. We have lots of footwork but not enough directness. Semenyo makes stuff happen.

Sorry, 'stream' as in PL coverage, via subscription here in Canada. Lots of other streams out there though.

LOL . . . yeah it looks like Cook is playing CB. Wow.

AFC Bournemouth v Crystal Palace - Tuesday 7.45 pm

My stream showing indeed a 4-2-3-1, but they have Christie more advanced than Billing, which seems really dumb.

Are we sure Neto is playing goalkeeper?

AFC Bournemouth v Crystal Palace - Tuesday 7.45 pm

Yeah. Cook could drop deep into a back 3, Smith and Dango become wingbacks, 2 midfielders (Billing, Scott?) drop back with Christie, and now you have a 5-3-2 -- which would be a pretty dumb idea against Palace, but who knows.

AFC Bournemouth v Crystal Palace - Tuesday 7.45 pm

Yeah, I was a bit hasty. Just trying to figure out the general formation but I think that's right. swap Cook - Christie, and maybe Billing and Scott. But I think it'll be 4-2-3-1, mostly.

    Record since Week 10

Anyway, thinking about it a bit more, we've been averaging 1.75 points per game since then. Over an entire season, that would be about 65 points. Haven't checked everything, but haven't we played Liverpool and Man City during that 20 game period? Yeah, now that things are clicking, we're...

    Record since Week 10

I was thinking about a question: what would the PL standings look like if the season started Week 10 (when we got our first win, vs Burnley)? Here is the table from Week 10 onwards (admittedly some teams have games in hand, and there were points deductions for some): 1. Liverpool 44...
