That one you're describing in your second paragraph was 2 seasons later. Opening game of the 08/09 season, a day or two after being deducted 17 points. Anderton scored after dribbling about 40 yards through their defence and he looked shattered afterwards.

    Kerkez the winger.

Eddie tried that with Smith about 7 years ago and it failed miserably. I know the full back position has evolved massively over the last decade or so to the extent that most full backs are now essentially auxiliary wingers, but it is still a very different position .

I haven't bought a new Football Manager since about FM13, but I play FM12 occasionally. It has the perfect amount of detail without being too complicated to just pick up and play. I largely agree with USCherry's top 4, but I'd swap Elder Scrolls with Uncharted. Uncharted 4 is one of my...

    Burnley 5/1 to beat Everton

I'm backing both Bristol City and Exeter at over 2/1. I might whack Burnley in too and do a trixie.

For number 6, surely Steve Robinson made 100+ for both sides? He was in our top 10 for appearances at one point and was at Luton for years too.

    The AFCB v Palace quiz

Great quiz that. All this time I was convinced Tony Scully joined us from QPR. I've also looked him up and I had no idea he played for Man City in 97/98. Then again a lot of players did, including half the Georgian national side.

Can you really blame him though? Part-time sides are on a hiding to nothing in the Conference as there are normally like 18-20 full time sides in it these days. Occasionally one of them makes the play-offs like Braintree did about 10 years ago, but they are largely just fighting for survival...

    The art of shithousery

Lerma was a master at it. That Watford game in the Covid season where he started a 21-man brawl in injury time as we were holding onto a lead, and somehow got away with it. Think that also started the whole Local Man Is Pleased/Promoted saga. I'll also add Marvin Bartley into the mix. Always...

4 cans of Special Brew from Down The Hatch and a bench in King's Park. Failing that The Bell or Cricketers I guess, if you want fancy things like a roof and a lack of judgemental looks from passers by.

    7 goals at one end….

6 at the South End when we beat Millwall 5-2 in 2013. 7 is definitely a record at the New DC though.

It was 100% the Wrexham game. I've just scanned through the DVD and found the moment. It was about 5 mins before he was subbed for Hayter.

Anyone remember Fletch hitting the bar with a 40-yard volley in this game? Standout moment for me even taking a record-breaking hattrick into account.

The reverse fixture after they did us 4-0 was a cracker too. We got a last minute equaliser that Neil Young tried desperately to claim but it went down as an own goal.

You'll be ok. You're having a wisdom tooth out that day. I think I've averaged a wisdom tooth extraction every 18 months or so in my 20something years of work. The trick is to not stay at the same company for longer than 6 years.

Although the bottom 2 seem to be slightly adrift, there's a really interesting relegation battle developing in League 2. 5 of the bottom 6 have changed managers recently and they've all made really good appointments on paper. Will be good to see how it all plays out.
