Takes a lot to get to me , a young girl with everything to live for , but this is such a tragic reminder to all parents, the pressure heaped on our children nowadays, we all want them to be the best in whatever they do, encourage and push them in Sports & Education, but how fragile the mind can be, she missed a flight and felt she'd let the team down.

A very tragic story. I can speak from personal experience sadly, although not to the level of the Soutters thank god, of the lack of help available to child mental health issues. An issue that gets worse through technological advancement and the ramped up pressure in a number of forms that never existed when we were young. It is severely underfunded and also still misunderstood in the education system to a degree.

It’s really good that all this work is happening, along with the completely unrelated single use plastic. One of the ironic upsides of technological advancement is that it helps with campaigns like this so hopefully it can right some of its wrongs.

Also speak from personal experience. Young people today pressurised by social media and their peers. Very difficult to get reliable, early support. Grandparents often the only regular support for several young people I know.
