Peter Hayward -

Sad day for AFCB.

I was on may way back from the Falklands in October 82 when I wrote to the club in the hope of getting a ticket reserved for the 2nd leg of the Milk Cup tie v Man Utd.
When I got home 24th Oct, there was a ticket waiting for me, and an invitation to the boardroom for a pre match drink, signed by Peter.
It was more than a few for the pre match drink. He was very generous.

RIP

That’s a top story and thanks to you for representing us in the Falklands which must have been difficult.
Was he related to Norman Hayward? I’m guessing so?

Don't think so. He was from the Hayward building family in Bournemouth. Think his father was also a Director.
