That a German company owned it?
That it was still British I meant.

"The move, timed for 2259 GMT on March 29, is part of a wider withdrawal of business and money by financial companies seeking to keep contracts and policies within the European Union ..."

Weird timing. Surely we will know before that, say a week before or a few days?
I was more focusing on the timing of it. Why 1 min before. Wouldn't they be aware a day or two days before B day? I mean, do they think it will come down to the last hour and a magic solution created?I read this yesterday but have to admit I don't really understand what it means to the UK day-to-day. The article suggests it will affect the tax take but doesn't give any details. Presumably moving the assets won't affect tax but new business from the EU will effectively take place outside UK tax area?

I do not have any opinion regarding the tax being paid, or due to be paid.
...here's one...why don't we develop our own manufacturing instead of relying on other countries to bail us out?
surely the whole idea of cutting ourselves free of The EU was to give jobs to us british folk...and not have any johnny foreigners here....I am afraid that as a race we are often too myopic and insular...hence this mess..
...anyway how is David Cameron thesedays?
tucked away somewhere constantly washing his hands no doubt!
...yeah because he is a good example of staying put eh?David Cameron made a late effort to stop three MPs defecting from the Conservative Party to join the newly formed Independent Group, it has been reported.
Anna Soubry, Sarah Wollaston and Heidi Allen quit the Tories yesterday to join the eight Labour MPs who resigned earlier this week. In a statement, the three Remain-supporting MPs said: “Brexit has redefined the Conservative Party - undoing all the efforts to modernise it.”
Later, Soubry told The Times Red Box podcast that Cameron had sent a message to the MPs as they prepared to announce their defection, asking: “Is it too late to persuade you to stay?”

I have this dilema, who was worse, Blair or Cameron?
They’ll both end in the new independent party. Helll on Earth!I have this dilema, who was worse, Blair or Cameron?

I reckon Michael Caine could play John Major... and John Major. It'll be like an old crime caper film where they get all the old timers back to do one last robbery..
.. and we are the mark.
