Sometimes Southgate is really likeable, but then other times his tactics just make me scratch my head and think “Wow what an absolute fuckling”.

What exactly has Mason Mount done in his appearances to put him above Wilson and Maddison?? When will Rashford learn to pass? What is the point of Ross Barkley and Michael Keane? Why is TAA so shite for England? What makes Declan Rice any better than any of the other bog standard “he runs about” English midfielders in the league? Half the player L. Cook is...

Kosovo were good to watch at least.

Edited to add that I’m “still an England fan” and I thought we were great first half. I’m just annoyed.

Great going forward and always likely to concede against the better teams. On course to qualify easily and crash out of the tournament against the first decent team we meet in the knockout stages.This cycle will never be broken unless we become dependably solid at the back. I‘m assuming we don‘t have any better defenders or defensive midfielders eligible to play for England ? It‘s definitely an area we need to improve if we‘re serious about winning a tournament.
 
Rashfords agent deserves the world for wrangling him all them digits in his contract. As good as Southgate has been in calling up a more diverse batch of players, players like Dier, Rashford, J-Lingz and probably more are a painful reminder of Top 6-itis.

I thought Barkley was one of our best players on Saturday. That's only my opinion from watching up in the Gods (Tier 5).

Spurs mismanage him too. It’s like he has a clause that states he must play every second of every match. Rooney and Owen were 2 England strikers who had pretty much been burned out by the time they were 30. I hope we don’t make the same mistakes with Kane.
 
Had we had a better start to the second half I think he would have been on. He was always warming up throughout the second half just below us but as soon as we conceded goals Gareth went with the "safe" option of keeping it unchanged and then bringing on Rashford.
On another note absolutely alarming how many Kosovo fans were in our section - when they scored the first about half our section stood up and cheered. Segregation and stewarding last night was a joke.
Very noisy fans though - respect to them, made themselves heard.

I know it’s a modern fact of life but how sad you have to make this post. I’ve just been to 2 Test matches where England fans, Aussies and neutrals all managed to create a great atmosphere sitting together. I’m sure it will be the same in the RU World Cup in Japan too. What is it about football ?
