Come on hardly, thought Kelly did OK when he came on. Do believe we need to get smith to rb though
Hardly what? Rewind to the start of the season. Rico was very good. Short term memory loss on this board sometimes.

Rico?
Short term delusional I think
Thank you. @CherryBare there you go.
There isn't player in the present selection that I would go to. Surridge is the only one that may score a goal, but he can't even get on the subs bench. He must be thinking what am I doing here.Rico: Has a good cross on him, excellent taker of set pieces, always gets the ball in early.
Kelly: Has never played in the premier league. Has no experience playing in the current back 4. Has been injured for nearly a year.
Who do you go for in the closing stages of the match you desperately need to win?
Firstly everyone was playing better then. He's always got a major blunder up his sleeve, and he's not close to Charlie daniels.Thank you.
‘The left-back, who signed for the club from Leganes in the summer of 2018, played every minute of the Cherries’ three Premier League fixtures last month.
During those matches, he bagged two assists, the first coming for Nathan Ake’s header against Southampton in what was the side’s first ever win at St Mary’s, while the second was in the 3-1 win over Everton at Vitality Stadium, as Callum Wilson latched onto his through ball.’

Why does Eddie not play him then?

In terms of pure numbers, Rico’s defensive stats were excellent. Prior to being dropped, he had the highest number of tackles and interceptions in all European leagues. There might be particularly reasons as to how this has occurred but you certainly don’t get those stats by being a bad defender.
Now Eddie obviously wants his full backs to contribute going forward. It’s why Stacey is getting in the team despite being out of his depth defensively. Despite a good cross, Rico just doesn’t have the passing ability or speed of thought in tight spaces higher up the pitch. I’m also not convinced he understands the movement Eddie wants but that applies to others too.
So that’s the reason he’s not getting a game. If we were getting attacking output from elsewhere, then I’m sure he’d be picked on defensive merit alone. I really hope he wasn’t recruited as an attacking full back because in that case our scouting team have massively misjudged his attributes
It’s why I put a slight caveat on the stats because from what I see in his attacking play he looks a little lost. I don’t agree with Eddie’s choice but I’m trying to explain what I think he is basing his choice onBut if you compare the attacking stats of all of our players, Rico is at least on par with everyone else. The only difference is that Rico is also one of the best tacklers and interceptors in the squad. It’s absolutely insane to me that EH would rather play Smith on his weaker side than just play the best LB we have available.
I know where you are coming from .....I think he'd be a great signing for a team who wanted a full back who defended and whipped in early balls .......hes not a Charlie Daniels and Adam Smith type who where basically converted wingers who will drive into the opposition's penalty area. It’s why I put a slight caveat on the stats because from what I see in his attacking play he looks a little lost. He’d be ideal for someone like Burnley...except for the fact he’s forrinI've no idea why we bought him tbh
