Genuine replacements?

Whereas you look at Johnson’s record and it’s been a pretty similar pattern of mid to high 30s% win record...

To highlight what a difficult position it will be to fill, Eddie’s win percentage was 50% before Burnley and 40% in his second spell...

Looking at Hughton he has 55% at Newcastle, 29% at Norwich and then 41% for BHA...

You look at those stats and you can understand why Hughton is favoured in this situation...

Hughton really did get a bad deal at Newcastle.

I would be reasonably happy with Hughton, considering his track record and Max’s ill-placed desire for a swift return to the PL. He would seem a good fit for what the owner is looking for at the current time. Maybe not the solution for the long term but he could do a job for Max in the here and now.

Kris - did you had a quite word with Willo recently ?

He knows something - he couldn't say on Solent yesterday.

Now Stevie Robinson has finally come into the betting.

Have you and Willo put a few bob on him as our next manager ?

Martin O'Neil??
Probably too expensive? Got a football brain.
Might want money to develop team that may or may not happen?

As long as he doesn't bring nutbag Roy Keane! (Although he would have sorted Weeman out in double quick time!)

Think Houghton was treated badly at both NU and BHA tbh, I think he can do a job for us and was the first name that came to mind when I had come to terms with the fact that Eddie had gone. The worry is that his style of football, whilst effective might not what we want to see at Dean Court

Batty conspiracy theory... but could it be that Eddie just wants six months out and plans to return after Christmas, or next season? Therefore we need to keep the same set-up, with JT in charge, in order for Eddie to just slot back in. Obviously we can't make this plan known as it would undermine JTs authority, but it could explain the longish negotiation period before Howes departure...

I did wonder this, and hope it, I said it on the stream but it was while my mic cut out. But the fact JT is staying says to me that EH is not going anywhere else in the short term. Also that if a manager comes in they will be a coach not a manager as such, and may have a shorter shelf life for this reason

I was all about Robbo yesterday but the more I think about it, the more I think Hughton would fit the bill. Dignified, respected and a proven track record. I agree his teams are certainly not the most exciting to watch but it has to be better than the play-ineptly-from-the-back/hit and hope we'd devolved to. Our current crop haven't learned from a great organiser yet and Hughton would certainly get some ducks in a row.

But the fans won't be in the ground to see it!

Could there be a big shock....Harry Redders !

I certainly hope not..he is too bloody old....but there he is ..in the betting and living down the road.

If we're looking to the Scotch Premiership how about Derek McInnes? A win rate ten percentage points higher than Robinson.

Would really endear us to the Dons' fans, too!
