Manchester C v AFC Bournemouth

If you check this thread you'll see people complimenting Billings for his play in the first half - and he deserved it. He was crap second half. I'd suggest conditioning is a big problem with him. That and he plays as if he is 5 foot 2. A problem for JT to solve. I have no indication it's an attitude problem, unless his attitude always gets worse the longer he's on the pitch.

Tons of good stuff tonight. If Travers can consistently play like he did tonight, a big if, the goalkeeper problem isn't. The Brooks-Surridge combination was great and should wreak havoc on the smaller Championship teams. Most of all I'm impressed with the strategy and the spirit of the team and the coaching staff. JT having a go at Pep was a joy to watch.

It's great to be Bournemouth again. Two weeks to add depth to the squad if ownership is serious about competing for promotion. JT has certainly won me over. Now to decimate Norwich Sunday.

Cook actually had one of his better games tbf.....although i suppose my expectations are a lot lower......Billing on the other hand !!!......has the energy of a pensioner carrying some very heavy shopping.....with the passing range of Phil Neville.

I thought I was going mad but if TF says Cook wasnt bad he must have had a worldy ;)

Cook had a good game and played some great passes.

City fans think we’ve been dirty cunts. Maybe I’m just being naive but what did we actually do wrong lol? Can only think of the Cook incident at the end.

I dont understand...he could dominate a midfield with his physicality but he turns away from tackles and pulls out from headers. Its really weird.
i don't know whats wrong with him ....i feel tired watching him run.......think back to that Aston Villa game where Eddie had to take him off because his aggression was going to get him sent off....where has that gone?

Just feel compelled to add that this was a cup game !!!
You know, the ones it was always best to avoid watching, the ones where you’d learn nothing about where we are at form-wise.

Well tonight I was entertained, it was brilliant entertainment. I saw 100% effort for the whole game and none of our youngsters disappointed.

I have to say JT, so far you have been a breath of fresh air, I love my team again. Just find a way to tear teams like Boro apart and we’ll be sorted. Maybe the Brooks / Surridge counter-attacking combo ?

I really don’t like Billing in general as a player but today I think he’s getting some unfair stick, he was clearly physically shattered in the later stages of the game and put in a shift today.

How was kilkenny a waste
Agree. He didn’t get too many opportunities to show very much, to be fair to him. He certainly is a nippy little bugger though, looks like he could be an excellent impact sub for when teams are starting to tire.
I was encouraged by what I saw.

Yes, I saw him running back to defend multiple times tonight. One of our main criticisms of him in the past was that he didn’t help out the defence. He certainly did tonight, plenty of times. As you say, he was knackered towards the end so we need to keep working on his fitness and endurance.

Put in a shift doing what exactly?.....it certainly wasn't tackling....tracking back....passing or shooting.....if putting in a shift means jogging around while occasionally poking his toe at the ball by way of a tackle then i suppose he put in a hell of a shift.

unfair stick ?
The guy strolls around, no tackles and slows our attacking chances down.
I know he is tall and gangly but he is so annoying to watch. The tallest player on the pitch and no where in the box at corners.

He covered an awful lot of ground out of possession. I completely see where you’re coming from, I would often be in complete agreement, I think he has the general tendency to be lazy and to duck out of challenges. However solely based on today and the ground that he covered I think he’s getting unfair criticism.

Thats a very low bar isn't it?.....just running around very slowly.

You obviously didn't watch the game I assume?
I certainly did for once...
Did you not see the difference in possession ?....bloody embarrassing !

Fairdo..several of our players did well..I.e. Surridge , Simpson and obviously Gosling.. ...but Billing my God what was that..and I can't see a fighter in L.Cook !
