Non - Derby County

Every club in the land with a 12 point penalty.. or just cancel 4 fixtures each to shorten the season...give the guys extra breaks int Dubai ...or Mumbai ...jubbly bubbly. !

Reading the comments there, the Derby fans seem to think that Wednesday got punished not for overvaluing the stadium but for backdating when it was applied by a year. So they are reasonably confident they are in the clear.

I won't lie, having two clubs that can put a run together start on -12 would be a helpful bonus for us next season. However, I still hate the whole points deduction thing. It can make a nonsense of the competition.

I agree, but unfortunately given the amount of money in football now, points deductions are the only real way to effectively punish wrongdoing.

Man City's recent fine which equates to what their owner has lost down the back of his sofa is a case in point.

Didn’t the Derby owner buy the stadium for £80 Million and it was independently valued at £41 Million? I’ll be surprised if they get away with that.
 
Those people in Medieval times that kicked pigs bladders from village to village across the field and valleys.....should it have been someone's bag of gold nuggets !
 
What these Fines are really about ..is to justify the jobs of the people dishing them out...and keeping the yacht builders and busy and bouyant ! Its a System for a Good Life for Good ol Chaps....and to lever their daughters into top careers such modelling and their sons into other financial positions.

Derby are considering their own legal action against the FL due to transfer restrictions they've been operating under these past months whilst under the investigation.

Meanwhile the FL could still appeal the verdict and relaunch their case. And other FL clubs have written to the FL requesting urgent clarification around what the verdict means for FFP and stadium sales (other clubs perhaps considering their own sales?).

Lots more to come from this I think! As ever the FL comes out of things looking like a bunch of incompetents.
