Next Manager Betting Odds

I think in the market we find ourselves looking in, 'Good' and 'Experienced' are not really options we can afford...

Most (if not all) good experienced managers are going to be in work already... having said that tho, just as a players face might fit at one club and not another, the same could be said for managers...?!?!

There is no reason why Wagner couldn't come here, having had a disaster at Schalke, and take us on further than Eddie.... The same goes for Woodgate I guess. A pretty p*ss poor record at Boro, but then who's to say he hasn't learnt from that experience, dug deep within to understand why it was such a bad experience, and then moves on to the next job, having learned from his past mistakes, with new approaches..?

At the end of the day it's a lottery. Even the biggest most experienced managers fail... Just look at Spurs and Jose right now...

It's a big decision and the club are (hopefully) doing the right thing in considering things carefully. My gut feel is that Woodgate will have Saturday and possibly Rotherham as well... 6 points yielded and the job is his, at least till the end of the season

Not many indications seem to be pointing towards “good experienced manager”?

Basically ‘good’ in what’s on offer.

We don’t know who might have applied, discounting media speculation.

The first two names in the betting if they are to be believed are Wagner and Veira.

Wagner:

Huddersfied P 154 W 51 D 33 L 70.

Schalke P 40 W 12 D 12 L 16

Veira:

New York City P 85 W 40 D 22 L 23.

Nice 89 W 35 D 22 L 32

Personally I would think that would be highly unlikely with his track record. I can fully understand why the club are taking their time if he's considered one of the top candidates. He spent £90 million in his two seasons in the PL and then walked out (actually it was one and a half before I'm pulled on it)

My only worry is that Max might like a 'name' and it may go a little left field.

As a successful business man with an apparent need to instantly have us in the PL, you would hope Max realises there is no logic in placing our next manager on name alone...

Blake and Hughes however...

Max pulls the strings not those two. That said they've done some cracking business over the last few years so struggle slightly with posts like these.

Is there any chance of a really shock candidate that no one knows about?
By George I’d love that....especially if they were bloody good!

I know it doesn't take much to move you up the odds list, and I have ZERO understanding why he would leave a PL club to join here... but I see Scott Parker has moved up quite a bit...

He is someone I would definitely take... Would have taken him in the summer had Fulham not gone up and would still take him now...

According to reports at the time (not sure if true) sounded like he was a strong choice if Fulham had lost the play offs in the summer

Choosing the new management by numbers would only be sensible if they were managing the same squad in the same division against the same opposition.

Who would the new manager bring in as assistants, who would be kept ?

All questions that the AFCB hierarchy should have had contingency plans in place for in 2010.
