Thierry Henry

So Kris Temple has all but confirmed it's a shortlist of 2... Wagner and Henry, although we've still only asked to speak with Henry...

Doesn't exactly send much love in Wagner's direction if it ends up being him...

"Hold on David... We just want to see who else we can get before we think about you..."

I mean, if we're asking to speak to Henry, it means that Blake and Hughes have seen 'something' they like in his managerial CV... !?!??!?! Which to date is p*ss poor!!!

...perhaps his CV says he’s a friend of Olly Murs...

That Molly Urs should stick to her Music( if you can call it that).
Oh dear...I've this awful feeling that these Blake and Hughes bureaucrat people are gonna get it all wrong with the Football Manager appointment at Dean Court.
I'm quite distant from the action and rumour mill down here among pigs, sheep, cows, surfers, cream teas, and pasty rollers...so the vibes I get from this Forum are what I go by
...what comes out about these Blake and Hughes...and that piece of skirt doesn't fill me with any optimism!
Its all a bit Prawn Sandwich Brigade ?

TBF with lockdown, I don;t think many of us are more in on the action - just get our news via the the internet like you. Our friend in France seems to know more about the club than anyone, including those running the club it seems at times, so distance doesn;t seem to be a barrier...

As for Henry, no doubt his rep/stature will help to a degree, but hope he's got a lot more in his locker.

Assumption I know, but he doesn't strike me as someone that would follow leagues like the Championship particularly closely, like you hear about a lot of managers coaches - I imagine Wagner has a decent grasp of the players, other teams playing styles and whats needed at this level.

Maybe if he has a bunch of decent coaches, scouts etc then his reputation (and no doubt other qualities) could work with motivating, getting respect, whilst he learns the other stuff on the job.

Hope that Blake and and Hughes aren't creaming themselves at the prospect of having someone like Henry at the club, just because he was a world class player - which as we know doesn't equate to them being a good manager.

The attention the club would gain having someone of Henry's profile, could be seen as a positive by the mode - will no doubt bring in more revenue at beginning and if successful.

have you listened to the afcb richard hughes podcast?

That’s got to be one of the most stupid things I’ve ever read (no offence.) You would not employ a manager because they lost one game hahaha

I was just giving one example of why he is no better than one the we just sacked, or even better than Woodgate.
Of course he has lost far more than one game. Cardiff put 3 past them when they lost there to nil, Swansea did the double over them which they will not be doing over us. They drew at Forest at January 0-0 which is what we achieved even under caretaker Woodgate. No way would Ismael be a better manager than Tindall.

Also to add he failed to get Barnsley to the 6th round of the FA Cup with home advantage against a Premier team, whilst we won away to a Premier team with a caretaker in only his second game.

Estimate of Barnsley's wage bill this season: £6 million (as per last season)
Estimate of AFCB's wage bill this season: £70 million

It's like saying a PL manager of a small team that are overachieving is inferior to a PL manager of one of the big six when that team is struggling. For this season, and possibly next, we would count as a Championship 'Big Six' equivalent because of the budget the parachute payments give us and the legacy of the squad with which we came down.

You know this so I don't understand why you're making strange arguments.

Or perhaps they have decided it’s not Wagner and are now looking for alternatives

Not yet...ang on while I drag it up...

..Christ alive...2 minutes of that was " wtf is all this...a load of waffling about basically f√ck all..and somink about Junior Cherries..
Its like when you pick up books browsing in Waterstones...if it doesn't hook you in after 2 minutes..put it down...mind you patience and suffering fools gladly doesn't float my flotilla .

Sensible option would be to keep waiting as we have to get the right person.I wouldn’t really want an unproven guy but then that is what Howe was?
As for a ‘name’ I think Max has also to think of how commercially the club can raise its profile names like Terry and Henry would keep us in the media spotlight for a while, but at what cost to the actual success on the pitch?...Woodgate has made us defensively better but we have lost our scoring edge maybe we can’t have it both ways...Clough,Garaham and Dyche built their reputations on mean defending not always pretty to watch but successful

"piece of skirt"??

"piece of skirt"??

a reference to olly. because brian has "no interest" in modern culture, and "never" mentions it..... he's demonstrating his "non interest" in tittle tattle & celebs (again) by not even knowing ollys sex.... shhhhhh ;)

The more I think about this possible appointment the more I find it unbelievable,
are they serious that they think Henry can walk into this club and manage in this league that he hasn't got a clue about ?
The other thing hes not going to come cheap, and probably 2 year plus contract.
I know we live in strange times but this is getting ridiculous.
I will support whoever gets the job, but if he does, it's not going to work.
If at the end of the season we have won promotion with Henry ,I will eat all the humble pie you want, but that won't happen.
