....I can't think of too many managers out there that I would want..maybe Slaven Bilic, Karl Robinson or Mark Robins?

Wouldn't want Wilder, Jocanovic, or big Sam!!

I know. I don't really have a preference myself. You can get lucky by picking somebody who on the face of it is inexperienced but turns out to be brilliant or you can pick somebody who has been brilliant in the past and for various reasons it doesn't click for them at AFCB.

As SteveJonesLegend says, I think the main reason for the current criticism is that in our situation uncertainty needs to be avoided at all costs. This needs to get sorted asap. And as I mentioned, bearing in mind that we had two manager searches in the past season, you would think that we would be able to make a decision and get somebody in place pretty quickly. It probably hasn't happened because we haven't yet decided on a budget for next season, who we can keep, who we must sell, who we might be prepared to sell etc. etc.
These are all things we could have decided upon as soon as we had reached the playoffs. One spreadsheet for "if we get promoted" and one spreadsheet for "if we face another season in this league".
I wouldn't be at all surprised if we are only now starting to hammer out those fine details and valuable time has already been lost if that is the case ( see other clubs' success in finding managers already ).

I really hope they did not leave it that long - they should have been doing that planning at the end of the 19/20 season with the three scenarios (promotion, status quo, relegation) set out and budgets planned for accordingly. Anything else is incompetence.

Wilder track record is 1 promotion from the championship and relegation from pl.
He spent big money on bewster and mcburnie

That's like saying Howe is a track record of 1 promotion from the championship and relegation from the Premier League whilst spending big money on Ibe etc.

It overlooks a damn lot, including promotion from the Conference, League Two, League One and the Championship.

Lol this is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve read on here. You’ve completely ignored that Wilder got teams promoted from the conference, league one and league 2. As well as the fact he achieved a top half finish with a very poor Sheffield United squad in his other top flight season. You can win literally any argument if you choose to include only the facts that support it.

Reg plate MAX ***
Could it be?
Could be some action soon.

My only issue with Jokanovic was that he was incredibly hard to listen to in interviews. He barely opened his mouth! Him and Wilder would have done a good job with us though.
So much just depends on where we are aiming and what restraints there will be on signings. Different managers are good with either having no money or lots.

Sheffield United have known they need a new manager and what division they will be in next season for two months and you're singing their praises?

I know a lot of posters on here will automatically take the opposite view to anything Waz posts but AFCB have known they need a new manager since they sacked Tindall on the third of February. One of the reasons they didn't know what division they'd be in is because they didn't appoint a permanent manager to replace him.

This is b*llocks tbh mate.

So, presumably you wouldn't want Eddie Howe back either.

Not at the moment.

Let’s be clear. Just because a manager has failed before doesn’t mean they will always fail. Plus good managers can fail if circumstances not right and the best learn from failure.

I do believe wilder and jokanovic’s most recent final seasons in the prem are really worrying given the scale of failure. Think
Wilder is less of a risk but dont like the style of play he brings
