Bournemouth V Forest

That has to be complete rubbish I'm afraid.

Do you think Phillips, Brady, Moore, Cahill, and Christie came here just for fun.

We would have been the most tempting offer they all had.

We may have trimmed the hangover PL budget, hence why Cook was ousted.

But to think we are offering similar wages to the remaining 90 per cent of the Championship is simply not true.

Parachute payments allow us to pay higher wages.

Not sure what your point is. They slashed wages post relegation and have continued to get rid of higher earners and sign loanees and promising youngsters. The loanees and shorter term contracts may be relatively high wages but they won't be PL level and most of them will be off if we don't go up. As I say they are trying to have a proper crack at promotion whilst putting the side in a more financially secure position next year if that doesn't happen. If we don't go up Lerma will go along with the loanees and probably some of the other high earners.

Parachute payments will end, hence why they are doing this.

Loanees?

Christie, Brady, Dembele, Moore Woodman and Cahill are on contracts.

Laird, Phillips, Davies, Cantwell are all loanees.

All of these players will be on pretty bloody good wages.

Stanislas, Brooks, Smith, Lerma, Kelly, Cook, Billing et al will all be on very strong wages.

What we may have done is reduce the long term obligation to pay these wages over 3 years.

But make no bones about it, we will have one of the highest salary obligations in the Championship.

This is only a financially secure strategy if we are successful.

Woodman is a loan. Cahill and Brady one year deals.

Stan and Smith signed new deals at much lower wages. If we don't go up Lerma, Kelly, etc. will go.

As I say they are clearly doing two things at once - reduce longer term wages whilst having a decent stab at promotion. Hence why Cook has gone. You're even agreeing with me there. What point are you trying to argue here exactly?

Chester away (the week before Grimsby) in the -17 season was the biggest game IMO. Lose that and we are not staying in the league. Grimsby at home we would have stayed up even if we had lost it.

I agree. Am feeling very nervous about tomorrow, and thinking about it, I don't think I've been this nervous in the lead-up to a match since that Chester game.

It's not the time to be anxious, our fate is in our own hands, Give the players our undivided support and hope that transmits to the players performance, if that happens we should have to much for Forest. UTCIAD

I'm sure the way the transfters, loans, contracts were structured in a way to mean less liability over the coming years - relative to what we had before anyway.

Sold Surridge for good money, offloaded crazy Begovic wages, Danjuma wages + massive free, Cooks wages etc. May have forgot more?? Expect that alll at least covers players brought in. Plus players from summer before...

Who knows why Cook left, may have been financially motivated, may have been a case of new boss didn;t fancy him. Possibly a case of not fancied, at least not on wages he was on - manager preferred to use the money on other players. Either way, can't say I really care tbh.

I keep saying it but considering we have pretty much offloaded our Premier League squad that finished the game at Everton and had a total rebuild over 2 seasons with a different management team,I think we have done pretty well considering the size of our club.
Remember every team relegated from the Prem get parachute payments and not all bounce straight back.
Parachute payments are to help with wages if players can't be sold so that clubs don't get into trouble.
We are lucky that the club were canny in the transfer market and were able to see good financial returns from players, plus having a good owner.

Boscombe players should have an idea how to deal with Cooky and Sam...
...but the main focus must be on attacking them early on to make them panic.. ..we must not let them control the game....if we do ..its over and we stay in the championship..that's certain....because a defeat would hit the confidence too hard to have any chance in the playoffs.

The Big Positive is..They will be as nervous as us....and we have the crowd on full voice...so its defo in our hands.

Yep I did...4 -1..and we got the runners- up trophy.
Good day for me..I convinced the Chairman at half-time that extending the main stand further left and right into the corners for standing fans would create a louder and better atmosphere. He is taking me along with him to talk to two of our sponsors !

Oubdont believe in supporting your team then? Let's hope that continues tomorrow evening.
Yeah its reminiscent of a non league club sending the team off to play a cup game against the big boys....do the Forest fans have their little foil replica cups packed and ready for the trip? How precious.
