Summer transfers

Can just imagine Blake and Hughes sat together in the AFCB board room munching a packet of posh biscuits.

One spots that the club shop calendar hanging on wall still reads July. Turns it over to August. They have a moment of horror as they realise the season starts early this year! Villa at home this Saturday!

Best put the biscuits down and start submitting some transfer bids then...

… really thought this was going to comment on Chris Mepham being Mr August then…

Yes but 1 is better than none

The 3 at the back doesn't make sense given the players we have. Where do you put Billing? He's best as a number 10, but no space for him. Parker likes inverted 8s with wing backs, but Billing doesn't play well on the right. Christie is best as a winger, but has to be played as an 8. Smith isn't a natural wing back, so he doesn't get forward enough. Solanke thrives on support from midfield and wingers, but there is less support there. I can understand playing this formation against the top 6, but not on the whole. Makes no sense. Pick the formation that suits your team. Otherwise, it's square pegs and round holes. Surely Parker knows this.

Not sure he does. Has form of this at Fulham and thinks you can’t defend in PL with a flat back four. I wouldn’t mind, same as I used to say with JT, if they played the system the way it has had success with the wing backs left up field but we won’t. It will be a flat back five.
