Wheres Brian?

There are clear guidelines. They provide answers to the questions thus far raised.

Perhaps we should all read them or look at them again if it was a long time ago that we last did so.

Maybe we should read them not only for the 'isms' but guidelines about how to behave generally on this site.

Whatever, in any debate on free speech, surely, a significant factor to be taken into consideration is showing respect for one another.

This. There are guidelines we were all made aware of when we joined. You either follow them or join a different forum.

Everyone's always going to have differing opinions on what is and isn't offensive. The line has to be drawn somewhere. We're all grown adults and we should be able to communicate on a range of topics without testing the boundaries of what's acceptable. My 9 year old understands this better than some on here.

What's acceptable to a 9 year old is entirely different to what's acceptable for an 80 year old (Brian)

Although Brian does still get asked for identification because he looks so young..................according to Brian.

You're deliberately missing the point, did you want a job in the Tory cabinet? ;) Most children understand how to communicate without testing the boundaries. They also understand that if they cross those boundaries there are likely to be consequences.

I don't understand why any grown adult would get upset because the guidelines they signed up to are being followed through.

Why are you comparing children to grown adults?

I think the 'consequences' point you are making is not comparable between a parent and some mandated internet forum guidelines.

Seriously, how are the two remotely linked?

Tbh, I'd sooner the person who made the complaint leave the forum than Brian himself.
Lighten the f*ck up – this is Brian we're talking about here. He's a harmless old fool.

You could be looking at a ban with that username.

Somebody may find it offensive.

However, I did meet your cousin the other day.

Indian Elvis impersonator.

Jamal Shook Up

He might not be a bad guy but it's all just so tiresome. Personally I couldn't give a toss about his banal, repetitive attempts to be edgy but unfortunately when it's homophobic or racist shite, especially when it's aimed at visitors, someone has to post to show it's not acceptable to most people on here. I'm sure the last thing DJ wants to do is police a boring old fool's latest nonsense so I don't blame him for just banning the guy.
He is a tiresome bore who is about as funny as haemorrhoids

Thereay not have been a complaint. He just came off a ban for homophobic stuff, obviously that will come with a warning not to do it again.... but our Brian is just too edgy for all that.

brian will be sat in his pants, reading the daily mail & watching all the orange people on good morning britain, complaining to his incredibly long suffering missus (who deserves community recognition) about celebrity & woke culture, and dreaming of cranes loading loads of stuff onto boats in britains bustling PORTS.

Pushing the edginess?

A poem, in Brian's memory......

Brian with a joke about Inverness
Just pushing his forum edginess
He loves those North of the border
But nothing about forum order

Brian, Old Cherry we know you can see
Without normal posting ability
Brian we welcome you back in 3 weeks time
A man's who's served his Vitals crime

In times of trouble when you're in jail
We hope the team will not fail
Wrongly labeled the forum brute
Scotyy will wear a proper tracksuit

In memory of Brian.

What he said was homophobic, it broke the forum guidelines. End of. Not sure why this is even a discussion, there have to be boundaries set somewhere. Simply being a ‘silly old fool’ doesn’t make it okay.
Whats your excuse then?

You overstepped all the boundaries until you changed your name when you were supporting anyone but AFCB.

Thats a bigger crime in my opinion.
