Gary O'Neil

he is not the sort of manager we should be targeting. Has not the right experience.

Admittedly neither has GON but he has shown he can step up. Maybe Critchley can step up too but I wouldn’t want to gamble on it.

Lol, imagine appointing Crtichley now, given his background. At least with O'Neil he came in as caretaker and has generally done well, in the eyes of most people who follow football..

I think the support fro GON at our last home game may have made an impact on both GON to carry on and the board to stick with him if the move for Bielsa didn't pay off . I do like our system of keeping it with I the club rather than prostitute ourselves out for a large salaried ' big name'. If GON I'd finally announced as our managed then we should all get behind him 100% and I'm fully aware that only a few matches ago I was also unsure if he was the right man. I'm at the point now that we should stick with what we've got and keep continuity. The players seem to be onboard with him which is also an important factor

Key issue - has GON learned from his selection and subbing errors that cost us needless defeats some weeks back. If so - welcome to the permanent position. But don't revert to the conservative selection and tactics that were so plainly wrong. I guess we'll know soon enough ...
I reckon he would have learnt from any mistakes, Got it bang on at Forest.

or don’t revert back to when you went to fa coaching school and got the same coaching as Southgate, we don’t want none of that crap here

Why do people always say the choice is between GON or a big name on a massive salary. To me this was never the choice (I know the board went for Bielsa but don’t agree with this either). To me the choice was between GON or a decent up and coming manager at a modest club either in the UK or Europe, one that wasn’t learning on the job which we all agree GON is.

Last time we went down we had a PL squad to come back with. This time we will lose Lerma and I’d imagine Solanke. The time for a proven manager was now.

Anyway, if it’s GON we’ve just got to get behind him and hope he has enough. The 18 month contract and the long pursuit of someone else to the point of final deal tells you what the board really think.

At least we have sorted out this limbo period and made a final decision. I will get behind Gary and hope he can grow along with the new ownership and optimism in the months ahead. I do share the opinion that I would like to see him have some more experienced guys close to him to support through the tough times.
We can at least focus on organising the release and transfers in of players to strengthen our squad for the challenges ahead to stay up!
In GON we trust and best of luck to him.

he has spoken a lot about the mentality of the players. This is where his focus needs to be
