Nicolas Jackson

Nkunku isn't an out and out striker, more a number 10/forward, do unless they're going to persist with their no striker gane plan, they still need to sign a couple.

Unless Jackson is a total gem that's remained under elite clubs radar somehow and is capable of soon to be world class, I'd have thought theyd have more focus on the bloke at Napoli and/or others of a similar proven calibre.

I am not sure this is one that got away, but could be a nice bit of business getting rid of havertz to a rival and bringing this guy in

'Jackson deal to be formally completed soon'

Sky Sports reporter Paul Gilmour speaking about Chelsea's pursuit of Nicolas Jackson:

"On the face of it, this looks like a good deal for Chelsea. He's a 21-year-old, he finished last season in tremendous form, scoring 10 goals in his final 11 games.

"He's a player Premier League clubs have been tracking for some time - he was close to joining Bournemouth once upon a time.

"It's understood Chelsea have gone in over the release clause in order to get favourable payment terms.

"Chelsea will be very happy with this deal - it should be formally completed in the coming days and we can expect a long term contract."

Chelsea are clearly a bunch of amateurs. He wasn't able to complete ours.
We agreed £20.3M less than 6 months ago, but he failed the medical so wisely didn’t proceed.

They’re now paying close on £30M even if probably spread out over time, and still giving ridiculously long contracts only be to massage the fee over time to look like they’re complying with FFP. And this from a club with a net operating loss of over £120M in its 21/22 published accounts, and the first club to post accumulated losses of over £1Bn. They’d be the first to join Madrid, Juve etc in a super league- all basket cases.

Chelsea getting a bit whacky, and now vying with ManUre for the most unlikeable team in the league IMO. I think I prefer our Bill to their bunch of amateurs.
