I'll be honest, I didn't have CB down as a position where we needed someone unless:

a) Kelly has indicated he won't sign a new deal so, because he only has a year remaining, they're going to sell him before the window shuts

b) AI believes there is a marauding LB in Kelly if he unleashes him to get forward. To be fair, his pace could be really effective and we'll never know what restrictions were placed on him getting up the pitch by GON.

I'm not sure I buy this one. I can't believe we'd be looking to spend more than 20 million on a 3rd, 4th, or even 5th choice CB.

That is unless one of th3 following happens:

1. AI likes Senesi as a midfielder and thinks he can play there more full time as our defensive option. (Unlikely since he's already pushed this talk off)

2. We move to a back 3/5 with Kerkez and Aaron's playing as wingbacks. (This is possible, but seems unlikely as AI hasn't played this style before)

3. We're planning on selling another CB/We've lost one due to injury. (Again possible, but we haven't heard any rumors about selling anyone from our defense)

If this were a smaller signing, like brining back Stephens or taking a shot on a really young guy for a low price, like we did with Hill, I'd understand. Spending huge money for a guy who may not play doesn't seem likely.

Or maybe he’s looked at them in training and decide there not good enough!

Have they ran out of prem money?

During one of Norwich's previous relegations they spent and spent and spent. At one point, the club's liabilities and the guarantees of the owner could have wiped out Delia Smith financially. They won't be doing that again.
