NON- £8 million photo

End of what debate? It doesn't change my mind that pro royals are a bit sad to be so voluntarily deferential to a bunch of bang average nobodies and it isn't likely to stop me from saying so when the topic comes up. It appears that younger generations are so enamored with them too.

I called you out on a term some could feel was quite derogatory and you've provided evidence you were talking shite, that debate. PS everyone knows what you feel about the Royals btw.

It was supposed to be offensive. I don't like the royal family, bootlickers don't like being called bootlickers. Such is life.

They pretty much are a thing of the past. It will start to unravel now that Elizabeth has gone.
I can't wait for the first president of Engerland. Let's be careful what we wish for.

Some real saddos on here. Usual argumentative individuals.

Do you argue with everything else outside this forum 'life'? If so it must be really difficult for you and those around you if something isn't quite 'right'.

Eventually, the Royal Family will be cut back, it's far too large at the minute. In the meantime just f******g deal with it.

:throw:

The bloke is supposed to be the head of state of the country and you think people aren't entitled to voice their opinions? I'm sorry you don't like the fact that lots of people don't like the concept of the royal family but they probably aren't going to keep quiet about it for your sake.

Who said I don't like the fact that lots of people dislike of the concept of the Royal Family?
Re-read my post please..

It's the same as the Brexit debate. Once the vote was taken, those who wanted to remain were told to shut up as it's all over. Dissent is somehow unacceptable in their closed world. Let's not dare talk about the shortage of medicines that's happening right now.

It's also the same as people who have an issue with Gary Lineker spouting off about all sorts. Sure he's entitled to his opinion but the fact that he's paid massive wages from the public purse means people are well withing their rights to think he should keep his opinions to himself or be sacked.

Lovely to see that the government is happy to spend £8 million giving out free photographs of our filthy rich, cosplaying head of state.
Not like schools and hospitals could do with the money or anything.

You can have this one if you can’t get on the gravy train for a freebie.

But he is your King whether you like it or not.

It's easy to say he's not your King but legally he is unless your not a British Citizen living outside the commonwealth.

Yeah I read it. My point was that maybe you have to "just fucking deal with" people voicing their opinions.
Well I was surprised that the swear word wasn't asterisked out. Perhaps I would have re-worded it if I'd known.
My feelings are that sometimes life's too short to get stressed up about things we can't change or affect. Yes, sure, a groundswell of public opinion can change things.
Like them or loath them the Royal Family are here for a while. I think in time they'll be much slimmed down as per some of the other European Royals.

Without getting into a Brexit debate here Stan (wrong thread), the public were lied to during the lead up to the vote.

Good jobs all those wanting British Citizenship don't have to swear allegiance to old big ears right ?....Oh hang on.

You can say the past tense fucking but not the present tense ****************. Presumably the mods are of the opinion that what's done is done and you can't change the past whereas you can still censor the present and future. ;)

I don't know about anyone else but there's no stress involved from my perspective when arguing the toss on here. It's just an internet forum not to be taken too seriously. I'll still probably slag the royals off whenever they come up though.

You and I don't have to though do we?

They tried to encourage people to voluntarily say this...

“I swear that I will pay true allegiance to your majesty, and to your heirs and successors according to law. So help me God”

I wonder how many did that.

Can you imagine referring to some bloke as "Your majesty". God god.

I’m rather fond of my tie dye fig leaf, my hairy bollox and my B. O. I’d hate to be stereotyped by a sycophantic royalist, however.
Ah, but the thing here is, I'm not a Royalist. I'm neither here nor there with them. They live their lives and I live mine. I just don't see the point in whinging about them, following what they do and whinging about it, watching them on TV and whinging about it. They have no interference with my day to day life apart from Her Majesty the Queen who decided to attend impromptu at Pirbright barracks on the day of my discharge from HM Armed Forces forcing the barracks to go into shut down with me stuck there for two days and as a civvie at that point unable to do anything or go anywhere on the barracks. Bloody long two days !
