What are the chances of something similar happening if Man Utd recruited an assistant manager from overseas who didn't qualify for a work permit automatically? Would they still be waiting for an answer months later? Somehow I doubt it...

As soon as I see his first name I think...

That word ‘elite’ again.

So those that are here that can’t/couldn’t speak English when they first arrived in football jobs (second para). How did they get a work visa?

The UK government website lists three criteria that must be confirmed prior to an International Sportsperson visa being approved, namely being an “elite sportsperson or qualified coach” that is also “internationally established”, as well as their employment being viewed as able to “develop your sport in the UK at the highest level”.

As with all visas, applicants must show a knowledge of English, proven either by passing an approved test or having an academic qualification taught in English viewed as being equivalent to a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Bit odd, hope gets sorted soon. Maybe this dude is a set piece specialist?!
Funny that you say that. As a player he had an out of this world left foot.

Was a bit slow and weak and didn’t play much in the top tier, but his touch was phenomenal.

Tactically very smart player and hard worker as well.

Was one of the players that Bielsa was ready to let go when he first joined Athletic.

He publicly admitted a few weeks later that he had made a mistake with Iñigo and that his work ethic deserved a spot in the squad.

He ended up using him as a rotation player and if I remember well, Iñigo played a few minutes in our amazing win at Old Trafford.

All this to say that I have no clue if he’s a set piece specialist as a coach, but he certainly was as a player.

Are there reasons why you get refused work permits? Only players seem to have no issues.. sign one day and play the next ( most of the time ).

Teams tend to know if players would qualify for a work permit. International players have to have played a certain number of internationals if they are older, younger they have to have reached other qualifications.

If players wouldn’t earn a work permit clubs wouldn’t bother to get that far down the line to sign them.

Yep.

Penis size also plays a part in the application.
