AFC Bournemouth v Sheffield United

Ridiculous decision really.

Would have won the game if that goal had been allowed.

Touched his elbow from point blank range.

VAR needs to go.

They were checking for a possible offside in the same passage of play.

Nobody was anywhere near being offside.

VAR is looking for reasons to chalk goals off.

its just been a horrible development for football in general.
I saw the disallowed goal on MOTD and couldn't believe that was disallowed. There was absolutely nothing Dom could do about it, and he didn't use his hand/arm to control the ball.

Welcome to the world of VAR.

Even at the game VAR was using two excuses to rule the goal out.

I really don’t like Iraola’s insistence to play left footers on the left and right footers on the right, it encourages low percentage shots and limits the bodies in the box during attacks. We are cut back merchants.
I guess it's all about increasing delivery into Dom and those behind him. I know what you mean, though, and if your full backs are getting the crosses in, then in theory at least, inverted wingers can be used to cut in. Think Tav is definitely more suited to the inverted role.

Not sure we are quite as good as the Forum thinks we are.....
...it seems at the present time Andoni is getting 'found out' ...
...whereas O'Neil for example, that guy at Wolves, is finding out that he can manipulate opposition teams and managers reasonably easy and with flair if he chooses to.....people thought he was just a jumped up average 'coach'.

This is straight out of my proverbial 'straight talk' opus...which you understand is not laid out in any written form, as is usual, it's just memorised and plucked out when needed .... there are No Rules...you just strike it down and let it roll ..anyone can do it...requires little skill..just a fearless random thought projection into a keyboard or phone pad ....ju know whut ah mean mush ?
Now then the plural of opus is opera ...' spose you could incorrectly say opuses....but I like Opera which is correct and which sounds better to describe my overall showdown on the lowdown.
I couldn't be @rsed with MOtD earlier..fed up with it tbh..load of very basic claptrap. ..blathering a load of vacuous twaddle.
Nothing more annoying than a garrulous numpty or two on a Saturday night wash -up !
.
Oh the irony, with the last two sentences.

Even more ironically, I couldn't be arsed with the paragraphs before.

Surely by your barometer, MotD are just being edgy and saying it how it is anyway.

Having had some time to think on it feels like another case of bad luck and the inability to finish cost us again today, if Dom doesn't slip for his pen I think Sheffield would have been absolutely shot of confidence and it would have been a very easy afternoon.

Having said that still a bit worried that playing well but not getting results has become a pattern since Christmas. Is this a case of Andonis tactics being figured out and while being exciting to watch, becoming ineffective at winning games at this level?

Both goals today came from corners, we are really struggling to score from open play at the moment
With 32 shots I don’t think it’s a case of Andoni tactics being found out.

Interesting to see that both Man U penalty takers standing foot was flat on the ground beside the ball. Only the outside of Dom’s standing foot was in contact with the ground increasing the chance of not having a secure base to hit the ball from.

Well yeah..I think you have the basic gist of it...and skipping paragraphs is one way of coping with threads that you are not too enamoured with from the first sentence.
You could go for the Ignore thingy...I don't use it myself...but it suits for some....
Birds sing. ..Bulls fart...aeroplanes fly high in the sky... tiddle tiddle Iyo ...
Hey up...cheer up...Boscombe have 3 easy home games in a line..... the Luton friendly...a 2 week break .. Everton....Palace.....
....and then the other 'friendly' at Luton.

. Ironic...Icnor...sh*t...no anagram there !

No sweat..I'm just an ironic ignorant prat !

Andoni certainly isn't getting found out.

He's got a whole pile of players who can strike at the goal 30 times in a game, who couldn't hit a cows ass with a banjo.

Let's observe Wolves upcoming results in the next few games now they've lost Neto to injury.

ceiling is much higher than O'Neil.
Love the fact I destroyed your premise that Cook is not good enough.at this level as he doesn't goals, so you simply didn't reply.

I recall the pitchie when we played them back in the 80's. They all poured on at the end of one game being so massive an all that.

Us Geography teachers at the South end contemplated the situation, pipes, corduroy trousers and all. Day off from the rugger obviously but netherless decided we weren't standing for a load of blokes in donkey jackets invading the hallowed turf. The missus was at Greenham common with the smellies in a tent so I had a weekend leave pass.

So on we went and chased them back to the Brighton beach end. Laughingly they actually ran away.

Anyway they're obviously made from sterner stuff so regrouped and chased us back. We re grouped and so it continued back and forth. The daft thing I don't think any punches were thrown.

It was like the North meeting the South in some kind of weird love ritual where we chased each other and danced around in the middle for a while.

I remember that but thought it was at half time?

AFCB are 9th in the table with the number of shots and shots on target.

His arms were flat to his side as well. Absolutely pathetic decision, and the ref who had given the goal didn't even bother to go and have a look at the monitor to see if the idiot in the studio was right.

The handball thing is one of the many rules they've messed around with so any contact with the hand in the build up to a goal is handball, I think, but at no other time in the game. It's 2 tier handball.
But only if its an attacking player...............It is just wrong. That goal should not have been disallowed.

but only applicable to the goal scorer, not other attacking players, I believe

why have they fcuked around with the laws so much to accommodate var?

It's a crazy decision. The ball is cleared straight at him from about 2 feet away and it seemed to hit him more in the gut than directly on to his hand. They first checked var for offside before checking for handball. It seemed destined to always be disallowed. On Taylor, his consistency in decision making was poor. On a side note, when their keeper was time wasting at goal kicks Taylor tapping his watch does nothing to stop it. If he'd booked the keeper earlier than he eventually did then it would have stopped immediately.
