Non - Ryan Yates and Other PL "Rats"

In hockey terms, a "rat" is one of those yappy, chippy, smirking guys who will typically give you a whack with his stick behind the play and otherwise be a pain in the **************** that, if you had your way, you would smack in the mouth.

Watching Ryan Yates yesterday, he definitely qualifies. Do we have the making of a starting XI "all-rat" team.

One guy who bugs me no end and I would put forward as keeper is Jordan Pickford. So annoying.

In the technical area, definitely Silva for me although Arteta and Frank could be candidates.

Nominations?

Yates is currently my least favourite player in the league. It used to be Ashley Barnes before he got relegated. Other current notables would be Gabriel of Arsenal, James Tarkowski and Ashley Young (just for being a weasel). Michael Brown was a nasty sort back in the day too.

Mikel Arteta is definitely the manager. Joey Barton the kit man.

I reckon Savage and Wise are the best comparisons to Yates in that he has very limited football talent yet still get regular minutes in the PL. Most the others above had pretty good attributes elsewhere (passing, shooting, heading etc.) alongside their ratting. Makes you wonder if having a player in your 11 who is purely there to s***house the oppo actually holds you back (look at Derby with Savage...) however much the fans love them.

I think we look better with Christie than Lerma for example, yet we all loved Jeff and his ratting.

Neal Maupay, at Brighton and Everton he looked so bad that he seemed to give up on playing football and just look to get under the skin of whomever he was up against. Seems to have rediscovered some sort of goalscoring ability more recently at Brentford but still seems like a tit of the highest order to me.

My god - that guy is a massive bellend.

Probably find that all clubs have a few 'bellends' in their midst...depending on your comprehension of the word..same as most work places ; a kind of normality don't you think
and see how many there are on your local council....the Nation is full of no -marks of various categories...why the f√ck we are in this shambolic state....see the current political leaders...Sunak...Starmer and 'Sir' Davey...with each f√cking generation it gets worse !

This is a name that will probably only be familiar to older generations on here, but without a doubt the nastiest, sneakiest, meanest piece of work I have ever seen on a football pitch is Terry Paine, and I remember that horrible collection of players at 1970s Leeds. The sad thing about it is that he was also an exceptionally talented player.

Yates is one of those players that makes your skin crawl. Lacks any skill but has managed to steal a PL wage. Nasty little **************** that back in the good old days would've had his leg broken early doors and a word whispered in his shell, like.
