Just giving - Luton

Surprised to see nothing on this board about the Cherries Trust Just Giving campaign to fund coaches for the rearranged Luton game.
Already raised £700
A great initiative imho
Any unused donations going to Heart charities
So chuck in a few quid.

Would anyone organise a collection if it was a big club, Man U, Liverpool etc?
It’s as if it’s perceived that supporters of smaller clubs have less cash than those of bigger clubs and need a help.

Yeah . There are slightly more worthy causes that helping oppo fans get to Dean court .
Hope they all have to sign a non sweary disclaimer before they’re allowed on the coach .

From memory didn't David Whitehead organise funds to help Burton fans after a postponed cup game.

I have no problem with the spirit of this collection especially as any surplus is passed to heart charities.
Yeah he did...top bloke.....and now he is off the Forum disillusioned with all the hostility.

The idea of helping the Luton fans deserves merit....as did the Burton gesture !

I’ve known David since 1969. I didn’t realise he’d left the forum.

He did and we raised a few grand I believe. The circumstances were slightly different then though - game postponed only an hour or so before kick off due to the buggering around of the officials and I don't think AFCB covered themselves in glory either. It was also an FA cup game when neither club was in the PL.

AFCB and LTFC are both wealthy clubs so if anything it more along the lines of our trip to Old Trafford that was called off when we were all in the ground. AFCB sorted the free coaches for the replay on that occasion - you wouldn't expect home fans to dip their hands in their pocket.

Also despite the cancellation it wasn't as much as a wasted journey as those Burton and AFCB fans had when they didn't see a ball kicked. We had 2/3 of a game with a goal for each side before Tom fell ill.

I see the spirit of giving is alive and well.

How about it is a nice gesture. There was some affinity between Cherries and Hatters that day. Why not keep it going, other than for 90 mins of course.

No one is forced to donate, it isn't a tax.

Why woudn't we do it for another club ? The circumstances were driving this not the perception that Luton Fans are on their uppers.

Look there is a nice thing quick stamp on it before anyone sees.

*Sigh*
