Men's Health.

I must be the exception then fella, I don’t smoke, exercise every day.. drink red wine and eat a Mediterranean diet, type 2 diabetic..
Me as well. Played sports all my life, never overweight and was diagnosed at 50.

It's true that once detected there should be some food changes - lay off the high sugar cookies and pop, that in itself can make a difference.

For anyone in the local area this is a great initiative.
Where is it? In the pedestrian precinct?

Unfortunately, high blood pressure and diabetes is on the rise because we in the U.K. are anti-exercise and the fact that we consume too much junk-food despite being warned through various mediums not to do so.

Those who refuse to exercise and look after themselves will be the very same people who will expect free treatment on the NHS despite their condition being self inflicted. These sorts should be invoiced by the NHS before commencement of treatment. Perhaps this will make people take more responsibility for their own health.
Oh do shut up you supercilious pillock

Let's go the whole hog and disband the NHS

An excellent idea. At least then people may take more responsibility for their own health. At the moment we have drug addicts deliberately infusing drugs into their bodies and then expecting treatment on the NHS even though their health conditions would have been self inflicted. The same applies to all the waddling WW1 barrage balloon lookalikes that pig themselves on junk food and then expect thd NHS to treat them. This in itself is direct abuse of the NHS. People self inflict their own health by over eating, smoking and drug taking should be invoiced by the NHS before treatment commences.

Another way of looking at it is how would you feel if one of your family suffered a cardiac arrest and you discovered that a large number of the ambulance fleet were bust treating some drunk or drug addict when they have been looking after your loved one.

So, lets disband the NHS and see how many stupid people continue to delibeately fail to look after their own health.

If you drink copious amounts of red wine then you are at risk of type 2 as it is packed with sugar. If you currently live a healthy life style i.e. good diet and you do exercise and still have type 2 I would politely suggest you see your GP and have your kidney and liver function checked. If these organs are not functioning correctly then the risk of having type 2 is increased.

Kindest Regards.

Type 2 diabetes is on the increase and is caused mainly by bad lifestyle. In most cases it can be reversed by dietary changes and exercise. My pre-diabetes reading was '48' three years ago. I have now got it down to '41'. I took the advice form a programme I was placed on. The thing to avoid is pasta and white rice. Keep the white bread and potato intake to a minimum. Increase you exercise routine.

I disagree, and so do GP's disagree with your drinking a bottle of red wine in one session. I used to do the same. My GP stated that by doing this you are over loading your liver and your body will store vast amounts of sugar by doing so.

The problem is that nearly everything is laced with sugar to some degree.

Hope this helps.

Didn’t say I drank a bottle of wine in 1 sitting, it’s over a couple of days..I row thrice weekly and also cycle most days so am active, unfortunately due to my family history(which I won’t go into) I have pulled the short straw in regards to diabetes..but **************** happens as they say..

Have you diagnosed your own 'condition' yet ?

You know the one that makes you so fucking popular on here . Perhaps book an appointment and let us know what your GP says.

And salt, which is causal to the High Blood Pressure which many of us of a certain age tend to have.
Agreed. High blood pressure can be reduced through regular exercise and aboiding junk food. Obviously this would be dependent on age and mobility status. Personally, I do two 20 minute jogs daily Mon to Fri. I ofren use the lamp posts as markers i.e. to next lamp post than an enforced walk to the next, then sprint to the next and repeat etc. This exercises the heart.

Whatever happened to the bins you told us you would crash into?
Can't remember that one?
