Aston Villa tickets

So you're saying there is now an "off sale" date for the "off sale" date?
You could just agree with me and stop being so SDD DJ. What I'm saying is not that contentious. The club is saying we can have 3,000 tickets but if an unspecified number of tickets are not sold by this time next week for a match taking place nearly six weeks away with an, as yet, unconfirmed KO time or date then they will simply close down around half that possible 3,000 allocation.
They haven't said what the required sales activity is that would satisfy them but I will bet you that whatever we have sold by next week it won't be enough to satisfy them and we will be looking at the reduced allocation.
Not perfect I know, but maybe if everyone who thought they might go bought tickets this week, then we would easily reach the 1500 number. If the game is moved to an inconvenient time then you can simply cancel the order for a full refund.

But as I keep pointing out it may be a step in the right direction by the club but it doesn't really help that much. An unknown amount of tickets have to be bought by this time next week or else we will have our allocation chopped in half. As yet we do not know for definite when the game will be played, so for many people (including yourself I suspect) they will find it hard to commit to buying a ticket when there are travel and accommodation issues yet to be resolved. It would be far better if the club said they would reassess how many tickets to take nearer the time once it is known for certain when the game will be played.
As it is we all know that the secret sales activity criteria (whatever it is) will not be reached by this time next week and we will have our allocation chopped in half. Those who may be hoping for general sale will be out of luck as it wasn't even going to general sale until the day after they will chop it.
There will be pages on this thread next week of people complaining about not being able to get tickets.
Frankly it's tinpot and not good enough.
On the club's web site, it says they're required by league rules to notify the host club 4 weeks out of their final allocation selection, so have to assume they wanted to get a weeks worth of sales data, instead of waiting for the possibility of a rearranged game date and committing to an allocation before going on sale:

"Per Premier League rules, a final allocation must be selected by AFC Bournemouth no later than four weeks prior to the match date. If sales demand for a fixture does not meet a pace determined by the club to cover all seating AFC Bournemouth is committed to purchasing as part of an allocation, the final allocation can be reduced. This step also helps reduce the volume of home supporters attempting to secure tickets in the AFC Bournemouth away end during general sale."

Lol, what do you mean convenient? It's pretty simple isn't it? The bottom tier is on sale now and if it's not sold out by next week that's all we will get.
Thanks Del, if this is the case then WTF did the club not say "We have taken an initial allocation of 1,598 tickets with the option of another 1,400 if we sell the initial allocation before the 20th March?
Instead of BS us that we had 3,000 but we need to have sold half of that within a week or else we lose half?
It always used to be thus.
This **************** about face way makes it looks like the fault for not having enough tickets is ours for not all buying them sooner...........

These threads quickly become an absolute shambles. If a seat is available and you want to buy one, do it. If you don't, then don't. Pointless bickering about a paragraph that ultimately will mean nothing on matchday. FFS

If you want to go, then the best bet is to buy tickets before tbs off sale data.

That's true , but we plan to book something and go up the Saturday regardless as will be staying over the night.. always try to book with free cancellation etc to give some time in case the game gets rearranged etc..

Happened for this weekends game against Wolves , fortunately had free cancellation on a hotel and soon as we went out the cup and wolves progressed cancelled it..

It's all very annoying, have sky etc released tv games for April yet?! That's another reason why it could be moved to the Sunday! Especially as Villa going for top 4 .. ( and who knows we might be going for Europe !! , haha well after last night, anything is possible!! ).
The problem is more everything that goes with it, like travel and accommodation which can’t be refun

TV fixtures have been done up to and including the weekend we play Villa

Excellent news then , thanks for that update..

So agyer tonights villa game , we all should know if its the Saturday or Sunday.. do hope its the Saturday, sunday games are never quite the same !! .
Yes and no. In some ways I’d prefer it was the Sunday, as it would mean they will have played a European fixture 3 days before, possibly away from home. Would give us a better chance of a result.

Looking at sky it looks like games are only selected up to April 15th for tv.

Three title race games, Everton v Forest; Sheffield United v Burnley; Man United v Newcastle; even Luton v Brentford and Brighton v Chelsea surely more attractive than our game?
