Aston Villa tickets

I want to bring my lad down from Edinburgh for this one but can’t commit as travel capability is completely dependent on kick off time. The scheduling is painfully frustrating. Looks like I’ll miss out when they confirm smaller allocation tomorrow unless they can confirm kick off date / time today
A prime example of the shoddy treatment of match going fans. The truth is the clubs don't really care too much because they know most of us will still turn up no matter how badly we're treated. C'est la vie.

Not an option for all supporters, but those able to visit the ticket office I believe can get a refund up to 5 days before the game, if you’ve received your tickets.

If the tickets haven’t been posted yet I’m not sure what the policy is.

One of the FA Cup semi final's will be played Sunday 21st, it could be the Premier League are waiting for the FA to determine the kick of time before finalising the kick off time for our game. I'm hoping our kick off is no earlier than 1pm.

All initial allocation sold and no further tickets will be available.

The Cherries will be backed by 1,598 supporters as they travel to Villa Park to face Unai Emery’s side. The club filled the smaller allocation only after going on-sale to all supporters with away points, and as a result, the larger allocation of 3,006 seats was not selected.
As the match date is subject to change, supporters that are still interested in purchasing a ticket for this fixture can contact the ticketing team to join the waiting list. Supporters on the list will be offered seating as returns are made.

Absolute fucking p!ss take.
After telling us we'd better get our ticket purchasing activity up to speed by the 20th, which we then do by selling the smaller allocation out in full the day before, despite still not yet knowing when the game will be played. They then call a halt on the remaining ticket sales one day before when they said they would and flatly refuse to take any more for the game a month away with a time and date yet to be confirmed. It is pretty clear that once a KO was confirmed (if it were to be the Sunday) then we would likely sell all 3,000.
What are the club worried about? That they might have to cough up half an hour of a player's wages to cover the cost of some unsold seats?????!!!!!!
I hope you are reading this Jim....................................

Ridiculous, but predictable.

Unfortunately I just don’t think the club understand how ticketing demand really works. And I’d suggest that is the case for both home and away tickets given previous comments made on the required capacity for our new stadium.

Disappointing. The club will never know how many were hanging back awaiting a confirmed date/time.

I'll have to make do with sampling the delights of Wolverhampton in springtime instead. If we ever get any confirmation of that.

I don't think it was ever likely that the club were going to take the larger allocation unless a significant number of them were sold before now. The date uncertainty isn't the club's fault.

But the total disregard for the fans is the club’s fault and it’s been that way since Foley took over. It’s blatantly apparent that he sees traditional fans as a nuisance rather than an asset but that’s the price we pay for being a premier league team. As Brian says, it’s all about the f#%^king money and that money comes from tv and corporate activities not the pittance, as they see it, from average ticket sales.

You might be right but what could they have done differently? Isn't the date they have to confirm the number of tickets required set by the home club? If so should AFCB take a £50k punt on the game incase it's rearranged for a time that suits enough people to warrant mpre tickets than we've taken in years?

I say this as someone who isn't going because I couldn't commit without the certainty of a kick off time.

Whilst I agree with nearly all of this, it seems a bit harsh to lay all the blame with Mr Foley. Has this sort of shambles not been happening regularly since 2015?

This all reminds me of watching Saint and Greavsie many years ago, Brian Clough had refused to have Notts Forest on the telly one weekend against Liverpool or Everton or whoever, Greavsie asked him why and Cloughie said that the fans worked hard all week to be able to afford to cheer the team on on a Saturday and he wouldn’t allow their weekend buggered about with by people that hold them in contempt the rest of the year.

It's a difficult one. Personally I don't think we would have sold 3k, over 2k definitely without doubt, say 2350 for arguments sake. It's that upper and lower tier thing with the catering facilities, you just can't slide a line of stewards left or right to take up the slack or at least that's clearly what Villa are saying.

My guess is Villa also need to know if they can shift 1500 tickets or not so perhaps they set the timescale, more stewarding / policing for away fans probably needs organising as well.

The original communication from the club was slightly disingenuous however. As you said earlier it was always going to be the lower tier, it didn't need to meet any criteria as the club suggested, as none of us have a clue what criteria they use anyway.

Yeah I'm trying to imagine the circumstances in which they would have taken the upper tier. Say the lower tier had sold out two days ago, would they have just started selling the upper tier then? What if we then went on to only sell another 250 tickets? Would the club just take the hit on 1250 tickets? You'd think the bottom tier would have to sell out after only a few days for them to be confident they could sell enough upper tier tickets to justify taking it.

Either way as it worked out the supporters didn't buy enough for this ever to have been in question.

They couldn't buy more.

Well no that's what I'm saying - if the lower tier had sold out in two days the club would have had to make a decision then whether they were going to request the upper tier. That's the only circumstance where I can see that the upper tier would have ever been requested - it didn't sell out until today - they were never going to request more under those circumstances.
