Is this the future?

Possibly.

That would likely be a man made construct though. Nuclear destruction or man made pathogen perhaps.

Sad thing is it's the older generation who are more worried about it, and unlikely to see if the hysteria plays out.

Gen Z and millenials will be too busy getting lip and buttock implants, teeth veneers and posting selfies on X to notice.
Climate change is a man made construct. When all the rivers have dried up, all the forests have been cut or burnt down and all the farmland is destroyed by flood or fire, mankind will realise too late that you can’t eat money.

The planet doesnt care. Climate change only impacts humans and other species. The planet will carry on regardless and within a few years you would never know we existed.

The daft thing is, those that bemoan most about immigration are often those who also denounce climate change.

But refugees from war, economic migration etc will all feel so insignificant once climate migration begins.

Even if you think the planet goes through these cycles regardless, there is enough scientific evidence to prove that humans have had an impact on speeding the process up somewhat and we can have an impact slowing it down again.

The argument of all or nothing seems silly to me, but hey ho.

Once the gulf stream moves south we will be jumping on boats in Spain to cross to Africa!

Just a reminder for all... Bournemouth is further north than 99% of the Canadian population. The city of Regina is around the same latitude as Bournemouth. this month its average high is 0 and lows of -11. in January it averages highs of -11 and lows of -21.

Climate change moving the gulf stream further south might come as a big shock for many...

Which is great and everything but I’d quite like humanity to do well in the world, call it sentimentality or being selfish.
Sadly the human race will be the architect of its own down fall. A mass extinction brought about by greed, the very antithesis of the meaning of humanity.

I think you need to revisit those junior school educational books :)

Mass extinction events are not quite the same as climate change…

But its still climate change. You're talking about the end of the world with stan so you could argue we're currently going through a mass extinction event.

I’ve no doubt you’re right. Once man is wiped out, nature will reclaim the Earth.

Man is nature. Species being wiped out is par for the course on earth. No need to get your knickers in a twist about it imo opinion because it is inevitable. Even if it wasn't already inevitable, which it appears to be, once climate migration starts proper we will blow each other to smithereens in the most planet damaging way imaginable.

Hold on a minute is it going to be too hot or too cold? It's like packing for an August holiday in Scotland this!

I'm not sure that a bloody great asteroid smashing into the Earth has any relevance to the man made climate change we're experiencing today. Come to think of it, a repeat performance is probably just what this planet needs.

You said climate change is a man made concept, just accept it isn't always. I'd throw in the Ice age for good measure.

The planet will survive long after we've wiped out ourselves and most of the current flora and fauna.

As temperatures rise, many things expand in size. You'd have to expect more volcanic activity as the expanding magma needs to break through the crust. In turn, this creates a lot of atmospheric dust, so eventually cooling the planet again.

Will take millions of years, but planet earth isn't too bothered long term by us destroying stuff now.

Neo religion. The belief that it's all our fault and we must repent for our sins. Funny how druss goes in for all of this stuff.

Wow, you really are an ostrich. Do you genuinely believe that our current climate change has nothing to do with man made activities? Climate change has happened several times in our history but never as quickly as the current crisis but it has always been down to natural events and I'm not denying it or attempting to re-write history. Your blindness to science makes you the dinosaur.
