Aston Villa tickets

Yeah they probably could have been clearer. At the end of the day though they were never going to take the full allocation unless we sold out the bottom tier in a few days, which was always unlikely. If they did take the upper tier it would probably have been half empty.

Even less likely to sell out the initial allocation quickly when the date is known to be at risk and people like myself are waiting to see if Villa won or lost in Europe.

Yet that suppressed demand is being used to make decisions.

It’s a messy situation we can all appreciate that.

Yes but that's part and parcel of being in the PL. Games against European sides are subject to change. The club don't live in an alternate reality where the time of the game was clarified and where they don't have to confirm the allocation four weeks before so I'm not sure what they could have done.

It's shite, the fans are treated appallingly by the league. That said we all had the option to purchase a ticket knowing that the game might be shifted.

What Jim could actually do is show us some bloody empathy!

Jim appearing on here I found encouraging but to only write 5 words "A sound and logical assessment" to me is sticking 2 fingers up!

Maybe if he actual answered some of the questions, clarified the situation and actually appeared to care it might help to reduce some of the ill feeling that has been generated. The ill feeling isn't a one-off, the failed attempt to make it compulsory for us to purchase women's match tickets, followed by brolly and flaskgate, then Newcastle away fiasco also the rushed safe standing debacle, when will they ever learn?

I was hoping his response might be something along the lines of "We are aware that this is far from an ideal situation but as a club our hands are tied within the confines of... However, your support is very much appreciated and we as a club have already flagged up your concerns to the PL because we have listened to you and agree that you deserve better".
Winsor, I do care. And we do appreciate your support. I am completely sympathetic to the issue. It unfortunately is out of our control on when to go on sale and when we have to determine final allotment. We would always prefer to see every possible away seat taken by our supporters. And we have flagged this already with the Premier League long before this or even Newcastle. The TV selection and dates process is also out of our control. We can only make decisions based on the information, data and sales velocity at hand at the time the league and home club dictate. You can always contact our ticketing team by phone to talk through any topic. We’re the only ticketing team in the Premier League open 7 days a week.

Why don't you look it up? The home club dictate how tickets are sold, I'm sorry this upsets you.

Why don't you tell me you seem to like replying constantly?
There is nothing in those FAQs that state the home club dictate when the away club must finalise their requested allocation. They only "dictate" the order in which they are sold, it is "Per Premier League rules, a final allocation must be selected by AFC Bournemouth no later than four weeks prior to the match date."
As you previously quoted.

As of now at 14:15 GMT on Friday 22nd March the EPL have still not confirmed when this game will take place. This is over a whole week after Aston Villa's game against Lille was confirmed to be on Thursday 18th March. How, therefore, can a rule that states final allotment needs to be determined by a fixed period before the game takes place, be enacted upon when the taking place of that game has yet to be determined?

The home club and PL set the rules about how and when tickets need to be sold and therefore when the allocation needs to be confirmed. I still don't see how you are blaming AFCB for any of this. Villa wanted to know the allocation before the date and time of the game was confirmed by the league. That is on the league and Villa not Jim F surely.

Yes I know, I have not said otherwise. The home club set rules about how tickets are to be sold. Either was these things are not down to AFCB, which was the point I was making.

Do you actually believe yourself Del. You did say that the club are involved in when the allocation needs to be confirmed in your post previous to the last.
"The home club and PL set the rules about how and when tickets need to be sold and therefore when the allocation needs to be confirmed."
What is wrong with you?

Christ, I said the rules about how and when tickets are to be sold are set by the home club and the PL. They are. The important point is that it isn't AFCB. Wtf is your point?

My point is you are so determined to argue with everything you tie yourself up in knots and eventually start contradicting yourself.

I've not contradicted myself. The point is that the rules around the sale of tickets and the rearrangement of games are not down to AFCB and therefore it is pointless blaming the club for anything other than poor communication.

I'm fully aware of who is responsible for what and have posted the links to it. I always get the blame for arguments but it appears to be you focusing on an irrelevant aspect of my point that you misunderstood instead of the actual point, which you haven't even acknowledged. Anyway I'm bored of this now - unlike you I've made point.

******************************** you have contradicted yourself as is plain to see:
The home club and PL set the rules about how and when tickets need to be sold and therefore when the allocation needs to be confirmed

Anyway we're all bored of this now but you started by jumping on my post initially with your usual desperate attempt at trying to find something to argue with.

So AFCB don't set the rules then, thought so.
