AFCB Women

Glad others enjoyed the match as much as we did. Entertaining Non-league Women's football match. Bournemouth did everything they could except get the winner. Keynsham were well organised in defence and they stayed that way for the whole match. Their goalie was their stand out player, literally, near enough 6ft tall and knew what she was doing : )

6 thousand plus crowd? Back in the day, there would be 1 thousand more in there and it would be announced as 4 and a half thousand : )

However many were actually present, I would think all bar a few, that went to be disappointed, left feeling entertained. It ain't men's professional football, it's non-league women's football and our women are very good for the level they play at : )

DC Lounge was closed so we sat outside what was Legends. Saw an awful lot of people we know, it's great to feel part of the club : )

Ps speaking of an awful lot, good to have a chat with KBG, after he tried to sneak past us : )

Pps I'm no football scout but I think Keynsham's goalie is destined for better things in the Women's game : )

When the teams came out and went into a huddle, I thought their keeper was part of the male management team and was a bit bemused to see them go in goal.

It's the way forward, she covered every square inch of the goal.
That's the real weakness in the women's game, the size of the keepers

Sign her up!

Selsey up at Ringwood next week. Might be a chance to see a few goals, as they've lost every game this season and their goal difference is -175 (minus one hundred and seventy-five).

Young kids playing against opponents that are many levels ahead of them.

It's like Christchurch under 18's playing Man City away every week, bless em.

Happens all the time in non league, having a quick glance at the Wessex League, Andover -101 GD, Lymington -94 GD.

Crucial match for the women tonight in their penultimate game of the season as they travel to third-placed Moneyfields, knowing anything less than a win will almost certainly hand the title and only promotion place to Exeter when they play on Sunday.
