AFC Bournemouth v Everton

Our home record against Everton really is hard to get your head around.......since that 3-3 we've won the last 6!......The fact some on here wanted Dyche as our manager is frightening....we can look at yesterdays game and think fcking hell that was a hard watch but there's a match on Tuesday to look forward too......Everton fans know it's not going to get any better.....it must soul destroying.
Dyche complains about his teams lack of finishers yet plays the truely abysmal Dwight McNeil ahead of Danjuma!......he has a quality creative midfielder in Andre Gomes yet plays three defensive midfielders.....shudder.
Dwight McNeil has done more at this level than Danjuma ever has, he’s a better player.

Cook misplaced two passes at the end and shot over early. Apart from that, the near post corners seemed to be causing havoc in the first half, he hit numerous first time passes to feet and was always quick to cover at the back and support going forward.

I thought he had a good game from where I'm sat, but obviously not everyone's opinion!

Cook was fine yesterday, not a MOTM contender but did a decent job in a position that he’s clearly not entirely comfortable in. He’s a six, not an eight. He wants to be screening the back four, that’s his game. Anybody using his goal record as a reason to criticise him is a bit clueless.

Yep. Nice to see you all.
Who said Daniel Day Lewis was the last of the Mohicans. There’s one in Scotland. :grinning:
Should have stayed longer, but it's strong ale they serve in there and you might have wanted to get back for a Costa....... BTW back in on Tuesday at 6 you're always welcome, bring R&R and Dragonm8, we will get them a lemonade and a packet of crisps......

FWIW I want to say I was amongst those that could not believe Lewis Cook got given MOM. I'm not a Lewis detractor I've always liked him and he has had some great performances this season particularly but from where I was watching yesterday, that was one of his worst performances for a long while. Nearly every time he passed it went out of play or to an oppo player, his shooting was wayward and he still seems to struggle to get his corner kicks over the first defender. I am a Lewis fan but yesterday was not one of his best days, come on be honest......

The problem is, he made two clear errors late game and that sticks in the mind. "Nearly every time he passed it went out of play" is simply not true is it? You can watch only 2 mins of the youtube highlights to see that he was involved in most of the action and his passes were well placed.

4 seconds into the highlights the first person to make a pass is.... *drumroll* ..

I know it was probably Dyches idea to disrupt us but I've not really ever understood why teams , notably forest, turn us around in the first half so we kick towards the Ted Shed in the second half. We have home fans behind both goals and I'm sure we do pretty well when teams do that anyway. Add to the fact that the away team is shooting at the goal their fans are nearest too in the second half Ive just never understood the mentality of teams that do it. It's always sweet though when teams do it and we still win.

Begs the question then that why do we always play towards the North Stand in the second half if we win the toss?

Good to see Adam Smith getting that excellent cross in for the O.G. It was as good a cross as Kellys for Solankes goal. Smith has been absolutely brilliant, a real inspiration out there. 200 PL games and I reckon a good few more in the tank. An AFCB legend.
He said in his interview on Solent that he'd like to get to 250 PL appearances.

"Sean Dyche. Sucking the joy out of football since 2007."
That's all I was thinking watching that game yesterday.

Any time we tried to play football ( which I believe is what the players are there for ) they fouled us to stop play or fell over trying to con the ref into stopping play instead. It was absolutely tedious, particularly in the first half. I cannot understand how Everton fans get any joy out of supporting their team the way Dyche has them set up. Absolutely abysmal to watch and probably soul destroying for any talented player he puts out on the pitch. Their tactics are basically, get play stopped and have as many dead ball situations as possible in 90 minutes plus injury time. We can probably deal with the ones against us and we might just be able to bundle one of ours in, if we get lucky. Brilliant. What a way to play "the beautiful game" !!!

My MOM was Semenyo. He was incredible and the ball seems to stick to him. As previously mentioned by others, he seems to have decided that he belongs in the PL and now he is playing with such confidence, he is showing what a valuable asset he is ! Top lad !

Cook may have made some mistakes but he also played some sublime and intelligent long balls. He was getting a lot of mentions for his incredible long range passing on my Spanish commentary anyway.

I was so glad that we managed to nick it in the end. Thoroughly deserved. Only one team out there was trying to play football and it wasn't Everton. If they'd left with a point it would have been an absolute kick in the 'nads for football.

Nice to see Bill there. Wouldn't surprise me if he mentioned a contract extension to AI while he was over !

Danjuma was crocked.
For Spurs and Everton too? He’s played numerous times for both and done very little. Maybe he’s just not up to PL football? He has never shown anything to say that he is. In fact his entire career achievements are one decent season in the championship and one in la liga, even then Villarreal seemed very keen to get shot of him….
He also seems incapable of forcing himself into a pretty average Dutch squad…

He said in his interview on Solent that he'd like to get to 250 PL appearances.

To me, it was significant that he was chosen over Aarons yesterday, the latter being fully fit and having trained with the team during the break.

He’s earned Andoni’s trust and it will be tough for Aarons to get that spot back.

To get to 250 appearances, he’s got 47 games left until the end of next season, so would need another season at least.

He is very good at self publicity, though!
