AFC Bournemouth v Crystal Palace - Tuesday 7.45 pm

I don’t get the Cook thing, personally, he’s been looking like the best version of Cook that we’ve ever had.
Yes odd, like the guy who continually having a go at Dom, he's gone surprisingly quiet on that recently.
Cooks been exceptionally this season, that press v utd which gave us a goal, just one example. I don't think it's cut and dry that adams will replace him at all.

If Andoni wants to improve next season he needs to replace:

Billing
Cook
Outtara
Radu
Fredericks
Faivre

That's 6 players who can possibly improve the team who currently contribute next to nothing compared to comparable players they compete against.

Ridiculous! Have you watched Cook this season? He’s got to be in the top 3 performers. Literally so versatile and consistent he’s played about 5 different positions in 2 games.

Plus even if (when) he loses regular spot to Adams, he's a superb player to have on the bench, and come in to starting 11 for rotation.

Knows the club and system well. Experienced, leader etc too.

Is our bar so low that we now consider not being on the end of catastrophically bad VAR decisions the rub of the green?
If some of those ‘close’ decisions had gone in our favour I wonder how many more points we would have.

Anyway, March was a good month for our team taking 10 points out of a possible 12, with three wins and a draw.

Now started April off with a win.

Anyone notice for Phil’s free kick on the edge of the area Dango was in a Kieffer Moore position unmarked - was expecting a recreation of the 2022 goal!
Yes I saw that. When the initial shot was predictably blocked by the wall we then tried to get it over to him but too late.

That said, if we had played Dango in ala Moore - I think the entire North Stand may have been at risk as that ball could end up anywhere!

That "penalty" review was insulting. It was a laughable, pathetic dive.

The offside 'goal' I struggle to comment on. I certainly didn't see anything obvious from the NS, so I'd consider that a touch of fortune, but I'd leave others up that end to comment.

The partnership between Christie and Cook, whatever you think of this website ratings, their overall rating are similar and both in top five in table.

Their disallowed goal was because their striker had half an inch of his heel offside whilst he was moving away from goal. There is no way that gets given in the pre VAR era and they got no advantage from it whatsoever. It wasn't like our defending was good enough to prevent the goal either we absolutely got lucky.

The game has not been improved by these types of goals being ruled out on technicalities.

Jesus what sort of enjoyment can someone like this get from supporting a side. Yeah it's the best season we've ever had but what about the injured right back and third choice keeper? Waste of money.

To include Cook in this just moves it from ludicrous to R&R type trolling.

PS Outtara is a good player.

Now I know the last 2 games were by no means the best free flowing attacking football, entertainment etc etc, but personally I absolutely loved grinding out 6 points against 2 teams set up to thwart our open play. Couldn't take my eyes off the game last night even though it was scrappy for the most part. The different tactics AI employed and his explanation of Cooks specific role in keeping Eze quiet were very insightful. Then you always had the feeling that our subs could take the game by the scruff of the neck and batter them. Semenyo, what a beast, just needs to get week in week out consistency and what a player we will have.
41 points from 30 games, you're aving a laugh. Yes we are :utc:

The first half experiment didn't really work, we didn't look like our usual selves but with such a short turnaround, some rotation was necessary and we got away with it. Also it looked like both teams were struggling with the conditions in the first half. So many balls going astray, no precision in the passing.

I think it was always AI's plan to give the new lineup 45 minutes at least and then bring on the "usual suspects" to put the game to bed, if needed.
It worked well and some key players were somewhat rested in a tough week.

It's good to see that we are able to rotate without looking hopeless and I think we will see a bit more of that in the weeks where we have more than one game.
I would still expect to see our usual lineup in the weeks with just one game, simply because AI seems to like to stick with a settled team when it's working.
But he now has some options, should he decide to give certain players a bit of a rest.

I would like to give an honourable mention to Kerkez who came on clearly looking to prove a point. He couldn't wait to get forward and cause some damage. A really positive performance from him, always looking to create something. Great to see because with young players who fancy themselves, dropping them can go one of two ways. It looks like he is reacting in the right way, which is good for him and us. Keep it up Milos

Also great to see no hint of us "hitting the beach" any time soon.
I think we will fight for every available point between now and the end of the season, which is of course how it should be !

AI is one heck of a manager and we should be so grateful to have him here, however briefly.

It was like a game of chess, which to be honest isn't the worlds best spectator sport but I just sensed something would happen in that last 15 minutes. Luckily we had the maestro trying to unravel it all. There's an amazing amount of non press coverage of us - it's all Everton.
