Cherries Looking To Make It Three Home Wins Running

We had our best unbeaten run after losing away against Manchester City, which included six wins and a draw. Since our home defeat against Manchester City, our team are on their second best unbeaten run this season with three wins and a draw. Two of the wins came in our last two home games against Luton Town and the latest game against Everton. AFCB could make that three wins in a row with a win in our next game at Dean Court against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night at 7.45 pm.

Our last game against Crystal Palace was back in December with Roy Hodgson as their manager, the Cherries won 0-2. After that result there was one place between the two clubs in the Premier League table. Palace were in 14th place and AFCB 15th, both clubs on 16 points after playing 15 games. Now AFCB are in 13th place with 38 points and Palace are 14th on 30 points.

Since that game the Eagles on their travels have not won an away game. They have drawn with Manchester City 2-2 and lost 2-1 against Chelsea, then Roy Hodgson’s team suffered their heaviest defeat of the season, losing 5-0 against Arsenal. They lost 4-1 at Brighton. At home Hodgson’s team since our game, have W 2, D 1, L 2.

Roy Hodgson was taken ill at training on the 15th February and had a short spell in hospital. Since then he has stepped down as the manager of his boyhood club, where in his two spells as their manager he kept them in the Premier League. His face will be missed on the touchline and in the dugout.

Crystal Palace were away in their next game at Everton, it was taken by two of Roy Hodgson’s assistants Paddy McCarthy and Ray Lewington. Palace had appointed former Eintracht Frankfurt boss the Austrian Oliver Glasner as their new manager and he was at Goodison Park watching his new club draw 1-1. In his four games in charge his side have beaten Burnley 3-0 at Selhurst Park, lost away at Spurs 3-1 and drew at home with Luton Town 1-1. His most recent game was away at Nottingham Forest which finished 1-1.

The last time the Eagles visited Dean Court in the league was in December 2022. The Cherries lost 0-2, the goals both coming in the first half. Jordan Ayew opened the scoring in the 19th minute and Eberechi Eze scored the second in the 36 minute.

In our home league games against Palace, AFCB have W 22, D 10, L 6.
All competitions, AFCB have W 30, D 20, L 28.

AFCB Team News
Ryan Christie missed the Everton game with a knee injury.

AFCB Player To Watch
Dominic Solanke with 16 league goals this season, has equalled the Cherries record held by Josh King for the most Premier League goals in a season. So all eyes will be on Solanke to see if he can beat it against Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace Team News
Michael Olise, Sam Johnstone, Cheick Doucore, Rob Holding, Marc Guehi,
Jesurun Rak-Sakai, Matheus Franca have all been out injured.

Crystal Palace Player To Watch
Eberechi Eze, strong all round player and has scored 3 goals in his last four games, including one assist. Another player in form recently has been Jean- Philippe Mateta with 3 goals in four games.

The Referee
Graham Scott is the referee for this game. He was referee for our League Cup game against Stoke City.

Not my favourite fixture as historically we struggle against them at home…we do better away v them but Selhurst Park is a dump and one the worst away experiences!

I hope that we do better this Tuesday !!

Our last four league games against Palace have finished 2-0.

The only one in our favour was this season away.

Two of the other three were at Dean Court.

Our main concern for thus game is tiredness and fatique. We looked off the pace against Everton. Now we have to go again on Tuesday.
So Palace obviously had a day off on saturday and will be refreshed and raring to go. Just remind us all, how did your prediction of the Everton game being "a disaster" go. And please learn to spell fatigue.
