Global Membership

I'm all in if it's a thirds scarf.

Us in the middle, Poole Town on left, Southampton on right.

Grey (hair) tassles on ends.

T’was mentioned in the recent supporter experience meeting minutes that we were the only club in the top flight to not have a membership scheme.

Would assume this is priced at around £20 in comparison to the Junior Cherries+ membership as the “perks” are similar plus you get one lot of free global shipping, something obviously the Junior Cherries members don’t want or need :)

Well I joined. It doesn't hurt. Interesting to see the two international prefixes they pinned to the top of the phone list were UK (understandable for those who moved abroad and hung onto their number I guess) and USA. Pretty clear where the number one target audience is... That also ties in with the choice of signed shirt.

A live stream, coupled with this fans forum is pretty much 'Global Membership' as we know it.

Foley and Frevola will have to come up with something a little better than this.

I can understand their wish to make this a global brand, and we fully understand you have extremely wealthy fans in certain areas of the globe.

Swinging a pitch at the Vegas Golden Knights in Nevada was almost a no brainer.

A very wealthy demographic, with a desire for a sports team, the tickets almost sold themselves, with the niche being Las Vegas had never even seen ice.

Hence a hockey team.

I do love Bills tenacity, and his never retreat always advance motto, from his military background.

If you're in the trenches, that's what you need to hear.

A hugely succesful man is Bill, and his compatriots, in Jim Frevola should be trusted.

However, a global membership scheme is futile and a waste of time and energy.

We have many 'overseas' fans, but they aren't going to contribute to the coffers with this offering.

It's a waste of resources at this stage.

The main benefit I would take from this membership would be easier access to tickets because from where I'm sat, it sounds like getting a ticket for the odd game, whenever you are in the area, is currently far too challenging and uncertain to even bother considering.

If the means by which fans from abroad are allocated tickets is more transparent and reliable, that would certainly help visiting fans to plan their journeys around going to see a game, should they ever be coming to the UK.

But I will await further details before deciding whether it is going to be a worthwhile exercise for me or not. If membership makes access to occasional tickets significantly easier, then I would consider it, depending on the cost of course.

I could not disagree more. And I say that knowing that the likes of me and you aren't really the target for it, we were already a captive audience.

It won't be an overnight success but the big clubs started building their fanbases in Asia in the 90s and the US a bit after that. It takes time to get traction but until you start you won't get anywhere.

At the moment Tyler Adams is a huge asset for us in the US market so kicking things off and trying to take advantage of his presence whilst he's here is a must.

It's actually a sign the club are making some smart moves behind the scenes.

I'll add that since these wheels are in motion to increase our audience, if I was in the AFCB marketing team I'd be offering a free signed Adams shirts to every sports bar in America, on the condition it goes on the wall.

It's free advertising to exactly the right audience for, relatively speaking, a negligible cost. I'd imagine plenty of them would be delighted to have a signed shirt of the USMNT captain on their wall.

It makes us part of the PL conversation in places we may have been overlooked before.

I agree with this. We all know that there's not enough tickets to go around and it's a tricky thing to get the balance right between attracting new people and pleasing existing ST/points holders but making it easier for exiles and other overseas fans to plan their visits has to be a good thing.

Probably a bit steep at 45 pounds (would be about CDN$75) although I must admit that the free shipping would be pretty good. Often, the shipping outweighs the cost of the item that I might buy, and if I know I get one free per year (unlimited items?), I would make a longer shopping list.

Does that mean Adams would miss the first half of next season with a shoulder sprain?
