Big club bias

The harsh realities of being a member of this cartel were there for all to see today. If those two incidents are reversed then I am 100% certain that they still end up with a penalty and we not.

FFP, the officiating, it’s all set up to maintain the status quo. You saw it in the Forest against Liverpool game too, along with countless others. It feels strange to feel deflated after such a positive performance but there you go.

The big media outlets will constantly tell you about how this is the best league in the world, it’s propaganda pure and simple. It’s the league with the most money in it, that’s it. I find myself self in the weird position whereby I want my team to be as successful as possible but at the same time I don’t like us being associated with this ‘competition.’ Can’t wait for the training ground and stadium to be built so that we have no financial need to be here anymore…

Newcastle supporting mate text me when we conceded the pen saying it's one of the worst decisions he's ever seen.

When VAR was checking our penalty, I texted him to say they'll overrule it. He replied it was stonewall and there was no chance.

Yeah, that was very frustrating today. You can start thinking that maybe we are we just being paranoid, but it happens time and time again against the big clubs. For the Christie penalty at the end, reverse that for a Utd player at Old Trafford and it is given as a penalty every single time... VAR wouldn't even bother looking at it. I had a quick look at some other teams forums to see some 'independent ' thoughts, and they are all saying the same as us - its big club bias and utter shite for roughly 14 out of 20 teams in this league.
That was a brilliant performance by our team tonight but we got shafted by the ref and VAR and it sucks.

What i don't understand with the christie non pen, is why the ref wasn't taken to the monitor to review it, effectively it was the var refs decision.
It clearly wasn't a clear and obvious error, but if the var ref disagreed then surely it was up to the on field ref to make the final decision.
The adam smith one was very harsh, but was never going to be overturned

I don't have any history in the game compared to you guys, but it's hard for me to imagine how this gets resolved equitably. I hate the term "fixed" when it comes to sports. I can acknowledge that the occasional ref in any sport can be poor. In any field, there will be the very good and the not so good. But the number of refs that we have seen that are good and consistently so .... it's got to be fewer than the fingers on one hand.

refs have stated their desire to officiate the golden games
if they don't give the big clubs, and their managers, those contentious decisions they wont get the opportunities to progress

why are we surprised when get fcuk all out of them?
sawing us off has no impact on their career trajectories, and their mates are sat in the var booths

Nailed it. The ref will sleep easy tonight, not so if he'd given both decisions our way. There's the bigger picture for these guys, those doing the VAR the PL and more importantly viewing figures.

We are a complete irrelevance and the world moves on.

I guess what’s frustrating is how comically bad they are in places. It makes you wonder where they’d be without referee protection.
I would say that fortunately for them, the odds are very much against them making it to the Champions League this time. They'd be humiliated.

Decisions like today have gone in Man Utd’s favour for 30 years plus. So many decisions today that wouldn’t have been given the other day round.

It’s easy to see why Keane (and other) ex Utd captains get frustrated by Fernandes. The bloke is an absolute disgrace.

I cannot believe he didn’t get booked for dissent today. He moans to the ref at every single decision throughout the game but because he’s Man Utd captain it’s obviously fine.

This is 100% the reason. We’ve seen it before with Ferguson and Klopp they get refs removed for months…. This will never happen if small club managers moan. PGMOL should have a policy where if a manager moans about a ref they should get him more often. They’d stop moaning then.
