Aston Villa v AFC Bournemouth - Sunday 3 pm

In the end the better team won but again, missing our opportunities in that first half helped Villa on their way. After the penalty we missed two good chances with Dango not hitting the target from a few yards even if the angle was tight. Also, Dom breaking through and Dango completely unmarked in the middle for a tap-in only for Dom to do what Dom has done a few times this season, head down but not getting his shot or pass away before the goal-line is right in front of him. While I think Dom is doing really well for us I don't think he is at the same level as Watson who I thought had a very good game even though not scoring. This season I don't recall any forward giving Zabs such a torrid time. The understandable withdrawal of Senesi (booking) took away one of our attacking options we use with his distribution from the back. The first conceded goal was really disappointing in that Christie had the ball running forward but never passed and as he has done on several occasions recently, got caught in possession with our players caught high up the pitch. A couple of passes later the ball was in our net. As AI said in his post-match interview, not taking our chances and making errors were our main failings. Not a disastrous defeat albeit a disappointing one. Now to put Wolves to bed.

Have you ever predicted any other result?.....its just the same prediction every week.....it's just not very clever is it Minty?
I have predicted a few draws. With the current dramas we have with key players injured and others half fit, do you honestly believe that we will get anything at Wolves.

Do you honestly believe we can go a whole season without winning?.....because that's what you have predicted.....not very clever is it Minty?

Wh

Why precisely though R&R?

Wolves played Saturday evening so at most have had one extra night than us to rest. Also their game was a hard one- home to Arsenal and they were in it right until the end so didn’t sub the way AI did yesterday. They’ve got injury problems at least as big as ours too- Neto, Dawson, probably Cunha too. They’re a single point above us in the table. So why are you saying we will more than likely lose?

The bookies have us as favourites.

The bookies do not take into account our current selection problems.

on Saturday due to wolves injury list they had 5 players 19 or under on the bench 1 of them was 15, are you taking that into account when making your prediction?

Yes but all of them are as good as Trent Alexander Arnold in Minty's opinion.

Very good day out with fellow Rocketeers yesterday, dampened a little by the result. Thought we did well to match them first half but their class really did show after the interval. Players mistakes were punished harshly.

The future though looks bright and I’m looking forward to seeing what the close season brings in terms of player upgrades.

Good to see @glennafcb and @Chris.H. again, and I met @HamJDW . Just need to meet @MB1980 now to see if I’m good enough to join in ;-)

Join in with what exactly?

Would be good to meet you mate. Kestrels all around on kings park... seeing as weather picking up.

Could be the beginning of a new 'thing' that gathers momentum.

Core of which will be vitals founder members.

Stick it up the corporate hospitality ;)

Yes I have. However, Wolves are at home and have not been forced to travel twice to the West Midlands in the space of three days. So, it which case they will be a lot fresher than us. Please try to think of the variables.

Come on Andoni you know it makes sense! :grinning:

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has extended his contract with the club until 2027.

Villa were 16th in the Premier League and fighting relegation when the Spaniard took over from Steven Gerrard in November 2022.
