Gary O'Neil

That's because he lost.

This is normally when people struggle to be gracious is it not? Clearly he was desperate to get one over the club that sacked him and he will have been internally fuming with how it went... and he kept a lid on it and was gracious. What more can you ask?

He wasn't gracious the first time around when he won.

What makes you think he may have been a smidgen more insular this time around given he got whacked.

If I was Gary O'Nil, the defeat this time around would have hurt more than the first narrow victory.

Same scenario......we lost a man, we were better than them, but this time he lost.

We overtook them in the league, we beat them with 10 men on their patch.

Gary may have appeared gracious and he HAD to.

He got beat fair and square against 10 men.

Wtf are you on about? He didn't have to be gracious. The people on here who bang on about the flaws in his character for some bizarre reason predicted that he'd whinge about VAR, make excuses, not give AFCB credit and blame everyone but his team. He did none of that, he was quite gracious despite being clearly fuming about losing to the club who sacked him. What more can you ask? Fair play to him.

As above

It's because he LOST the game.

LOST his league position.

And LOST all respect.

Had he won............

You're off your rocker. People are generally gracious in victory - it's defeat where they normally make excuses, moan etc. Did you ever see Mark Hughes after a defeat? In fact name any manager and they will all have gone on a rant after a defeat.

Gracious in victory?

O'Nil went on a podcast and told everyone how he 'outhought' AFCB.

That was when we were down to 10 men and they pinched a winner.

He may have had more credence had he beat us 4-0.......

11 v 11

He was gracious because he had fxk all to say, he just got beat.

This would have been Gary O'Nils biggest game of the season for him personally, make no bones about it.

He lost, against 10 men, at home, and surrendered his league position in the process.

Gracious.....maybe.

He had no alternative option.

He's been whinging about VAR for the last 6 months.

This time it was personal.

He had to say fck all, because he could say fck all.

We are all just lucky enough to have not heard his diatribe had he won

Thank you to Andoni and the players for keeping the little man quiet.

Are you serious or on a wind up? He was very ungracious in victory. Totally classless, you said you’d do the same at the time but that’s no real surprise having seen some of your exchanges on here when you think you’ve won.

He had to swallow pride when he lost and talk about how he wasn’t going to talk about var. Tell me you are talking about var without talking about var. He had no option. His ‘big club’ had just lost insipidly for the fourth consecutive home game. Hopefully they will make a big club decision and we can rid the game of another bore.

He was asked a question about VAR and refused to talk about it.

You, dragon and farrier are very bitter about O'Neil to the extent you behave like jilted lovers, when if anyone would have reason to act like a jilted lover it's him, because we sacked him.

Anyway I'll leave you and dragon to your pointless character assassinations of Gary O'Neil. He has not been "utterly classless" at all since he got sacked by AFCB. He talked up his teams performance after they won at DC and that's it.

‘Gave me an opportunity at a big club’

Or are you not counting that one.

Technically true as you will no doubt claim but would you hear Howe or Andoni say it? No.

Lol, so it's true but you're still upset he said it. Howe talked about how massive Newcastle are when he got that job.

Tbf his comments about net spend were the ones that raised my eyebrows - as if he was getting excuses in early. That was the first time I sensed bitterness in what he said. I was expecting him to come out after the game and make excuses etc. because he's clearly understandably pissed off with getting sacked... But he didn't, he was gracious in defeat. Fair play to him.

I’m not upset. Interesting how you like to apply emotion and hyperbole to everything. I find his continual classless amateurism in dealing with situations as part amusing and part pitiful but I’ve never been upset by anything outside my own life other than when lots of people die in tragedies.

It's an emotional game. Interesting how you see people you disagree with as amusing and worthy of your pity, very telling some might say. I obviously can't say for sure but I would guess that Gary O'Neil has a similar opinion about you pitying him as I do.

Ok so you are completely unflappable and aren't really invested in these opinions you relentlessly post.... if we park that ... how on earth do you get from O'Neil saying that Wolves are a big club to "continual classless amateurism"? He was a model pro about defeat last night, I'm sure you'd have mentioned it if he wasn't. Instead you've had to troll back through previous things he's said to find these apparent classless amateur comments. Good job you're not emotional about these things. :ROFLMAO:

Well we seem to all have different views on his interview after last nights defeat of Wolves......he came across as he was absolutely determined not to mention Bournemouth or any credit......you may say why should he ?.....I just think when you are played off the park in the first half.....you give a bit of credit to the opposition....not say say how poor your own side was.....think it had a tiny bit to do with us.... :grinning:

Continual classless amateurism is spending your career blaming other people for your failings be it refs, VAR, Directors that sacked you, a sly pop at his own board last night…

It’s just amusing watching the small echo chamber on here that defended him retrenching. Our Brockenhurst Xenophobic branch has gone strangely quiet. When I identified Iraola it was because I knew what we needed to get us going again. You have to admit you are enjoying it Del, come on!

Of course Ted. There’s a small (and growing smaller) echo chamber on here that are a little embarrassed about previous opinions though so they are having to read between the lines incredibly heavily.

Unlike their fans who give us a lot of praise, considering what they have had to sit through.

They're not that keen on GON either
