Richard Hughes

Ah the greatest hits. This new one though...

"Kelly is our most sought after defender."

Oh my. :slap:
It really is incredible isn’t it.

The way he will twist anything he can to try to support his anti-Hughes agenda.

So now it’s, “We’d be f****d without Solanke, Smith and Cook.”

There is so much to pick apart I don’t know where to start. I’ll make a list:

•Richard Hughes actually signed Solanke in the first place, I’m sure he’ll give all the credit to Howe as it’s convenient but Eddie even said himself when here that they worked as a TEAM to recruit.

•Neil criticised the signing of Solanke for months on end, now it suits his argument he was an incredible signing.

•We have relied on Dom this season yes, but the reality is that our recruitment team have never tried to sign another first choice forward since promotion because they didn’t need to, because we have Dom. So it makes little sense to criticise them for us being reliant on him, they haven’t even had an opportunity to show that they can recruit a prolific forward.

I can’t actually be bothered to go on, there are so many holes you can pick in his arguments I could be typing all evening.

how many bids have we had for him or is he just sought after as he available for free? if he was so in demand he wouldn't of got to the point of his contract running out, he is good but I don't see him as outstanding he will be a good back up option to a top club or he may finally take his game to the next level and go on to be a commanding figure in a top team but nothing he has done here would suggest that

I admire your tenacity waz
most gave up debating with the bellend months ago

Except you haven’t. You still sit there getting fired up with your can of Carling and Shepherds pie….

Waz goes one step further and argues with me under a variety of different user names.
Wow, I like Shepherds' pie so I would say that's a compliment. You can keep the Carling though.

I like to think i'm a shade above average intelligence....so I'd like to pose this confusion to see where i'm at and try to eliminate a few 'D's.
......delusion, doh'ness, demented, doughbaked, daft, dinlow, deranged...and so on...

Ok...tell me this...based on the rave reviews of some posters as to the position, potency and assumed record of Richard Hughes' s tenancy at Dean Court.....are we saying that he was the ACTUAL f√cking MANAGER over a period of years ...and it was NOT actually Howe, Tindall, Woodgate, Parker, O'Neil and latterly Iraola ?
Because it seems an inordinate amount of hype and hoohah around his name....or was he just one of those types that self - generate that kind of stuff ?
I think in the wake of Klopps departure at Anfield, Hughes's potency as a Mr Big might be severely tested and scrutinised and eventually we will get a picture and some answers about dealings at Dean Court during his time .

Was he one of those types that self-generate stuff!?

The irony!

Welcome back, its been too quiet without you.

Lots of intelligent blokes on this forum and a few slag of Richard Hughes. I wonder if any of us were Director of Football for AFCB what our sales pitch would be to attract young talent to the club? How to sell a career jump to our club against so many other bigger and more established options?

Because I think Hughes and his team have done pretty well. Yes some flops but lots of shrewd buys

And he leaves with the small town club that doesn't even own its tiny stadium comfortably mid table in the Premier League ....and as a long term fan whose first game was in 1965 I am still pinching myself in disbelief!!!

What a turn, shot, goal, day, mayhem, scenes. I'll

What a turn, shot, goal, day, mayhem, scenes. I'll never forget that moment.

There was a chap in the row behind me who ended up in the row in front of me after that goal. Bearing in mind there are safe standing barriers in the away end, I still have no idea how that happened. Absolute carnage after that goal :wahey:

Reminds me of something very similar at Wigan in the FA Cup… which sounds bizarre now but that was such a “big” cup draw at the time.

Have 4m a year. Thats the sales pitch to young talent.

He leaves a club 10th in the prem but we know that while a few people played small bit parts none of it would have happened without Eddie Howe and Max Denim.
