My bad! Not sure on the quality of the source but found this: https://www.statmuse.com/fc/ask/most-touches-in-opposition-box-by-team Has us 7th

    Neto

To fair I've added further clarification "if you look at Pope and Allison either side of Neto, per game they face almost half as many PSxG so they have less opportunity to effect a game positively" and "Regardless being positive means you're above average and negative is below average." Ederson...

They won promotion back to the league in '15 and earned EPL status in '23 We managed survival in '9 and were an EPL team in '15 Of course, this is subjective so they might argue (and I don't blame them!) but we beat them by two years.

AFC Bournemouth v Brighton - Sunday 2 pm

Kris Temple was saying they would hear it before the game. It's all or nothing, there's no reduction so either he has it rescinded or his season is pretty much over.

Used to love the football league show when that was on and following a club that was pretty much permanently rooted in League One with the occasion dip to League Two it would seem mindblowing that it seemed every other club has these crazy stories. It seemed so impossible in the modern football...

    Jarred Gillett

I don't think it's this masterful manipulation of the outcome of games but I do think it's a conscious possibly purposeful bias towards certain sides. Don't blow if you see something easy to ignore for one side and blow if you see a hint of it at the other, e.g. a Man City player slips in a...

Said the same on another thread. I didn't think the Ake handball was a handball but it was more of one then any given against us I can remember. I wanted Brighton to lose as well.

    Florist are losing it!

Watching the Brighton game and willing them to lose but the free kick that they conceded from was a slip that wasn't corrected, they had a decent pen shout and Ake handled the ball (not a handball to my mind) which was tonnes worse than any we've conceded this season.

    Neto

I'm afraid you'll need to rely on your imagination to come up with a metric that makes Travers look like a superior option to Neto.

I recon Solanke could smash that record.

    Neto

So the post shot expected goals faced per 90 sounds worse than it is. Basically it means against the league average how many goals more or less a game a 'keeper concedes. To break it up, I'll assume you know about xG so post shot xG is the expected chance of scoring once the ball has been hit...

    Neto

Appreciate PSxG isn't the be all and end all but just as a benchmark it's about as good a metric as you can easily get for working out a 'keepers impact on the scoreline. Here's Travers from the Championship: and to get a handle on the difference in quality between the leagues, you can see Wes...

And joint 14th for penalties won

    Neto

I'd sooner we play our strongest side, it's sending the wrong message otherwise. The problem is Neto isn't a showy 'keeper but Travers is. People are easily seduced by a 'keeper flying across goal conceding corners from 40 yards out because they think from the perspective of the striker. Good...

    Neto

Don't be sorry just look at the data and test your bias with it. One "dead rubber" game where he didn't start is evidence he's crap but the rest of the season is what?
  16. Kudos

    Neto

Nah this is rubbish. This is Neto and the goal allowed there'd be a dog pile about him being "rooted to his line" and "not claiming the cross". Neto is a decent 'keeper it's just that even the most successful team in our history can't exist without a scapegoat.

Wolves v AFC Bournemouth - Wednesday 7.45 pm

It was a perfect opportunity for some soft messaging about requiring to sell players to balance the books but it wasn't taken. We were called the 5th highest in the last two windows, there's two windows in a season. Other sources have us lower but of course transfer spend isn't the be all and...

"In the last two windows" to finish his sentence. He wanted to play down how well AI had done since he left. Over 5 years we're well behind wolves in spending. This has us at 10th: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/transferausgabentabellenplatz/wettbewerb/GB1 The club were also...

    New PL spending rules

It's a really interesting idea because the lowest (I'm assuming they mean financially weakest) side is not incentivised to fluff their numbers but the league as a whole is incentivised to prop up the weakest side. Lets say Luton are the lowest, every £1M sent their way gives Man City £5M to spend.
