Visiting Meadow Lane that day pretty much set my first taste of relegation as a Bournemouth fan.

Looking at that team, I do wonder how we did get relegated when an awful lot of those players went on to a higher level. Wrexham at the end of that season was also incredibly unpleasant. But it did lead to Cardiff which was fantastic.

In fact, that old Div 2 is almost unrecognisable.

The only game I ever left early. When the 2nd went in my heart just sank.

Also remember the journey back listening to talksport when they announced the Queen Mother had died.
They stopped their programme, played an advert, then came back with the national anthem.."And now a tribute to the Queen Mother from former Coldstream Guard Laurie McMenemy"

Just another one of those horrible afternoons. The only positive for me that day was that I stopped up there so I didn’t have the long trip home...

Awful game from memory.

If I remember right are best chance that day came from a Gareth Stewart goal kick that Feeney nearly got on the end of,but it just went straight into the keepers hands.

Think I had a hangover for the journey back too.

Great game!

Wasn't there supposed to have been a big bust up between some of the players (Richard Hughes) beforehand. Awful game.
When you look at the players how the hell did O'Driscoll get them relegated, although I suppose some were pretty young and inexperienced - but even so..

It wasn't as bad as this one though:

when the game was over before we had a chance to settle down, although there was some comedy gold from our fans at the end just after we scored and all their fans decided to go home early.
