67 million for a keeper

It is bizarre

How many goals a season fewer would he concede than Mignolet/Karius? You could maybe argue that, through better positioning or more awareness, he might save, what, seven or eight that sailed past one or other of his predecessors? Surely he's never going to reduce their GA by 20?

So, in effect, the same as paying £67m for an eight goal a season striker?

And before anyone picks up on it, I'm not suggesting that Mignolet and Karius could be played at the same time:p

Actually, it's the equivalent of paying that money for a striker that would score eight more than their current striker, not one that would score eight.

If that's 4-6 points that could be pretty decisive in a close season.

I've no idea how good he is but if he's, for example, as influential for them as De Gea has been in recent season's for Man Utd he's worth it considering the budget with which they work.

And have sold their 4th choice keeper for £10m. Continue to be gobsmacked by the numbers involved in this league

Not surprising. They were a keeper away from winning the champions league. This is something they needed to fix.
Even if Karius actually was concussed, the fact is you need a keeper who can take some knocks.
