...In our win today.
Yes it was pre season and yes not all of these players played the whole game/will feature heavily next season but surely it highlights that we actually have relatively a very successful academy.
Considering most of the infrastructure was set up in the league one era, when prem and championship football was just a dream, to be producing championship standard players is impressive as we'd basically be completely self sustainable in league one with the players coming through.
Building the training ground continuing to improve the academy needs to be number one priority in regards to creating a sustainable club going forward

I just think if we would have produced these players locally from a young age that would be an achievmwnt
 
The difference is they’d probably have been snapped up at a younger age by other clubs if we were still League One, a bit like Lallana.

Quite a number of them aren’t local either, and so I’d imagine our Prem status played a part in attracting them to the youth setup in the first place.

All very promising though.
