Adam Johnson

Have to say I find it a tad harsh when you look at the sentence this bloke got! <a href="http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/14382252.UPDATE__Alcoholic_who_killed_friend_s_daughter_in_drunken_crash_had_three_previous_driving_convictions/" target="_self">http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/14382252.UPDATE__Alcoholic_who_killed_friend_s_daughter_in_drunken_crash_had_three_previous_driving_convictions/</a>

The approach to sentencing is always an interesting subject. In August 2004, footballer Lee Hughes was found guilty of killing a man by dangerous driving, having crashed and run off for 36 hours before turning himself in. He was given 6 years in jail. He served 3.

Different offences, interesting dynamics around sentencing. Still, Adam Johnson can console himself with the prospect of being out at half term. He'll like that.

I believe the Judge told Johnson the tariff for his convictions was between 4 and 10 years. As such he seems to have done not too badly out of the sentence. 3 years to serve then - if he keeps his nose clean. I doubt he'd get much reduction from an appeal anyway - he was never going to get the minimum.

I can see him appealing against the conviction for the most serious offence but not the length of the conviction in itself. An appeal will give him a few days out of jail I suppose. I think the sentence was fair and if he has a shred of decency he will serve out his sentence without raking this over again - however his Sister seems bent on a Ched Evans girlfriend like campaign.

Huffington Post are claiming that he had a rather interesting search history.

I don't see why people would feel negative about Sunderland for suing him...

Some things are worth more than money.

Aside from financially, I'm not sure anyone sees how Sunderland can benefit from continuing to be linked with this nasty business.

There can be no winners from this situation.

You might be right. Especially if legal action would lead to awkward questions being asked about how much Sunderland really knew about what he'd been up to.
Think the release of more information about his conduct will make this even more uncomfortable for sunderland now, how much of this did they already know?

BREAKING: Adam Johnson has completed his Transfer to HMP Durham from Sunderland on a 6 year deal.

His sister isn't giving up though

So to summarise his sister's comments:

"I can assure every supporter that it has made me stronger and I will never give up"
"My appeal page has been temporarily removed but will be back up and running very soon with the link to my website"
"Thank you to everyone for your continued support daily it means a lot and keeps me going"

Yes because it's all about you love.

Why on earth does she think people give a toss about how she is dealing with the personal travesty of having a brother that turns out to be a nonce? It sounds like shes ready to launch a pop career off the back of it. She is aware there is an actual victim here.
